Niiice work bro. We all started somewhere. I used to do civil t&t so I’d practice in the yard, backing into all the bins with trailer then jackknife to get truck in. Always volunteer to work weekends so you can practice while no one is around lol

Great video Steve, and excellent advice on the backing a truck & trailer, im in NZ for 6 months and driving a truck and trailer carting milk and bales, im used to driving semis in ireland so i just need to practice more and more.... its hard to believe how nice the trailer follows with an 8x4 truck and 5 axle trailer, we should have this setup in Europe.

Keep passing your knowledge down to the up and comers in the industry bro, good tips and tricks there for some new drivers. Some cant even back their car at the shops without reverse beepers and cameras nowadays🤣. See people all the time reverse park their cars and they dont look at their mirrors once haha, they looking down at their radio.

Well for a person who thought he is a dumb arse he did a blood good job with backing and how many times did you have to go backwards and forwards to get it correct zero if i am not blind. Dam you can back better than some seasoned drivers.

I thought shiet was spelt shite😂 Is that actually talking shite I’m dyslexic so I’m always right😂😂😂 Bro,as we both know any truck driver who takes the piss instead of encouraging and helping us a cant driver! Any driver learning is a better driver,I’m 56 and I have never stopped learning and never been afraid to ask a dumb question.You don’t know it’s dumb until you never asked it! I find it mad you drove at Norman’s in the town I grew up,and live in the town we moved too! Dayne Bentley is my oldest mate who works at Norman’s. My father sold them new trucks decades ago. My mother had a cafe in Wellsford called the Cultured Cow,she had a logging crew who would buy 40 pies every morning for years,they genuinely loved her!
@Truckersteve14Күн бұрын
Bro Dayne was the first driver i went with before i started there to see what it was like doing freight, he kept that R560 he was on blinging, top operator that fulla very thankful he taught me alot of what i knew back then 👌 there were a few good buggers at normans that looked after me very well and will be forever grateful for that, legends 🫡

@@Truckersteve14 wicked! Doesn’t surprise me,damn right that boy can drive. Starting to make sense why you are such an awesome op. Similar truck setup in Sweden, with Alex driving and explaining how to reverse it. Only confusing thing is that he calls the dolly axles for 'front axle'. For me the front axle is the one (or two..) on the truck. And the dolly are the pivoting axle(s) on the trailer. So, for those who needs/want more explaining of how to reverse this truck setup: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWXGYZ6NeKuams0si=UekNfmf6aBPcX6lL

Chur bro My old stomping ground ah Chopper terrorist😂😂😂 Number one rule! Even number turning points equal equal turning 2,4,6 point,even turn steering wheel left equals rear of trailer turns left to. Same with the opposite turning right. Until I started with three(odd)turning point I soon found out I couldn’t reverse.The above started to really come into play. If you’re learning remember the above or do your head in trying to start backwards correct! Steve did you ever play at Wellsford 2nds very late ‘80s?
