@@SanchezArepthey do, it’s a set of different features. Some cars now use telematics to disable the vehicle and attempt to recover with Police via GPS as well as provide you control over security features via an app with a monthly subscription. Alarms usually also come with anti theft software that requires a code via a chip from the key being inserted or require a wireless 2 way connection with the key fob to exchange information and start your car.
@zolartan444215 күн бұрын
@@Claroboy911 problem is thats what the booster does, it creates a link between your distant keyfob and the car, letting it think its in proximity. A decent measure though is for it to constantly check and once out of range, shut down the engine.
@Claroboy91115 күн бұрын
@@zolartan4442Correct, a down side to push button start security systems is the keys being in proximity which makes the vehicle vulnerable to signal based hacking systems. A way to combat this is have the key out of range or turn off the key all together following the sleep procedure on the vehicles manual if applicable. If your key doesn’t have this feature you can purchase a signal blocker pouch and place it in there when not in use.

So, how or why did they do all of that when the chain is readily apparent? BTW, all they needed to disable your "security device" is a pair of bolt cutters to cut your steering wheel. If he makes a claim (he shouldn't for a number of reasons), he's still out the money he would've paid had they stolen it. But, he did the insurance company a solid, which is good for everyone's rates.
