Wiring a train horn to my alarm was the BEST thing ive done!

Honestly that is actually a great idea. While i wouldn't wire it to be used while driving, having it only exist as an alarm probably will deter thieves. Problem is will my neighbors complain? maybe but it would go off only during theft attempts, not any other time.

Yep, we need to go back to the days where steering columns didn't have locks and all it took was a jumper wire from the ignition coil to the battery and jumpering the starter solenoid to drive away.

@@bobroberts2371shh. 🤫 He doesn’t know how Castle Law works. Of course, I’d argue that your only mode of transportation is your livelihood. No mode of transportation, no way to get to work, no way to earn an income, now you and your family’s lives are at risk. Not to mention if you had a life threatening emergency, and needed to drive to a hospital, you’re stuck hoping an ambulance will get there in time. Of course, there’s also the risk that stealing your vehicle would also mean stealing your firearm, as many store theirs in their vehicle, no now you’ve got an armed robber.

a $3 toggle switch is better than anything. $200 to move a horn? that's thievery right there.

THIS. I don't have it in my current car, but in prior cars I'd get button for a feature the car didn't have. That interrupted the connection to the starter relay.
@alexanderjones9766Күн бұрын
I doubt they would even have to disable the horn, considering that car alarms go off by themselves so often that passers-by almost always ignore them.
@TonyMontana-cl6hzКүн бұрын
Yeah… Except when alarms are going off in the middle of the night. That usually gets some attention on a residential street.

The more difficult you make it for them the better for you. They don't want to give attention to themselves out in the opened

Relocation of horn doesn't prevent theft... instead install a hidden cutoff switch between the fuel pump circuit if fuel pump doesn't come on the engine will crank but will not start...no fuel no run...

Very simple fix, have a real train horn installed under rear bumper and wire it to the original horns wiring! Tada... sure to send them running!!!

What the h-ll is wrong with auto manufacturers these days. Poor quality control, poor engineering decisions, lack of theft countermeasures. One of the best solutions would be to get rid of push button starting and bring backs keys with digital chips imbedded in them.
@Noneyourbusiness-d8ball7 сағат бұрын
The Automakers do it so they are easier to steal, often requiring the purchase of a new vehicle. It doesn’t not speak well about the education of the automakers engineers making it so easy. It has the odor of automakers involved in insurance scamming.
