You’re right get some inexpensive gear and get outside. But if you buy a tent from Walmart you might want to get a small tarp to throw over it. Every ozark trail tent I bought has leaked Coleman is a decent brand

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! It's really all about just getting out there and enjoying nature! You don't have to have the best but just get what works for you. And you're right about ozark, I have 2 of them and 1 leaks like crazy but I must have gotten lucky with the other one haha. I'll see you on the next one! Take care!

So that CO detector you have, it won't detect spikes in CO. They're more slow to respond and they oftentimes don't alarm until something like 30 ppm. The heater is fairly safe as it can be used indoors and doesn't generate a lot of CO if any really. The biggest source of CO will be camp stoves, especially ones with those heat fins on the bottom. I accidentally dosed myself one day in my own house messing with those for a few hours. Had a hell of a headache. Electric stoves like that little kettle are obviously safe since there's no flame.

It’s funny that you mention the reflectix for your Softopper - I’ve gone round and round as to whether it’d be worth putting up in mine. I’ve got too use my truck bed for farm use every now and then, which means my topper gets folded down and/or removed somewhat often, so I just can’t seem to want to mess with putting the reflectix up and down. I usually throw my thick foam mattress off our futon in my 8ft bed, and I use a thick feather blanket from home when I truck camp, so waking up with a frosty Softopper every now and then just doesn’t seem worth the hassle. I rarely even run my Buddy heater. But I will say, I don’t tend to relax in the morning - when it’s cold, I just get moving after the old-man bladder wake up call, get coffee going and move around to keep warm. Maybe if I took the time to reflectix it up and invest in an electric systems so I don’t have to worry about ventilation, I could stay inside a bit longer LOL! Thanks for video - I’ve been jonesing to get back out again, but life has been thick lately. I feel like I got to live vicariously for a bit tonight - thank you Sir!

Hey Scott! Thanks for stopping by brother! And i'm kinda in the same boat as you when it comes to using the truck as a truck sometimes and it would be such a hassle to take all the reflectix back out of the frame of the softopper. And I know what you mean about life being busy brother, i'm always having to work or do something around the house. Always something to do! I'm really wanting to plan a trip like the one that you and your buddy did, it would be amazing! I can't wait to get back out there and do some more camping, i'm really glad you got to come along with me my friend, see you on the next one buddy! Take care!

Glad to see you post another video. Stop working so much and camp more!!! Lol They are logging the crap out of that area. I have an annual pass for Spearhead, but I only go to the OP. Its closest to me. No clue they had Thunderstruck. Thought it was all off-road vehicle systems. Which I guess a horse and feet are.

Hey Joe! Thanks for stopping by my friend! And believe you me I would stop working today if I could live off of camping all the time haha! They really did clear a lot of trees off the top of the mountain, it kind of surprised me when I came across it! And I have never heard of Thunderstruck either, I just thought they had four wheeler trails. It was a very beautiful place for sure, so glad you enjoyed it with me! I'll see you on the next one soon! Take care my friend!

I just submitted subscribed..Is a soft topper removable and how difficult is it to put on and take off? Why soft topper vs hard Camper shell? I am a senior woman thinking about truck camping along spontaneous roadtrips when I am not towing my travel trailer.
@GM.OUTDOORS7 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thanks so much for subscribing to the channel! It really means a lot to me! And I love my softopper, you really can't go wrong with it because its so versatile. I've had mine off and on several times over the last couple years and never had a problem with it and it's never leaked on me. Its very light weight and easy to take off and hang on the garage wall when you don't wanna use or just fold it down snug near the back window of the truck and it'll stay there like a tool box for a truck bed. The best times to take it on and off are when its warmer weather which makes it a little bit easier to work with and stretch it back onto the truck. I went with a softopper because sometimes I use my truck and can't have a shell on it, unlike having to take a heavy fiberglass shell off this is just so much easier. Also the price point is much more affordable. I gave $900 for mine and most camper shells these days are around $2,500 to $4,000 which is just crazy! I hope this answers your questions and if you need anything else feel free to ask! Thank you very much to checking out the video and take care!
