When I was very young early 1960s I saw an old R.E.0. in the woods on the mountain we lived on. The brass rad cover was still ok the seats were rotten and springs popped out. The wooden spoke were ok. It was an amazing find but by now its probably almost gone except for the tires.

Olds was the only automaker with two car companies named after him? What about The Henry Ford Company and Ford Motor Company?
@mattbradstreet1936 жыл бұрын
incorporated into the present ford motor company (mostly for name rights) and Cadillac (which GM overtook control) so Fords companies were never legally separate entities as Oldsmobile and REO were.

Actually, there was August Horch also. The brands Horch and Audi derive from his name, although Audi is a latin version, but means the same as Horch - Listen.

It needs to be remembered that Robert Craig Hupp has the Hupmobile and then founded "RCH" after leaving Huppmobile in similar fashion to Olds

Pronounced REO, not like the band which is R. E. O.!!!

The claim that Olds was the only Detroit automaker to have two car companies named after him is false. Robert Craig Hupp founded Hupmobile and later RCH, both existed at the same time.
