Noob Trucker in the UK, bringing other new drivers the heads up on what its really like as a new driver. I had a guy like this the other day in a RDC. My light had gone green but I know from experience that paper work is never ready straight away so spent another 5 mins in the warm cab before I went to go pick it up. He came over banging on my cab to let me know I had a green light. Didn't shout at him or anything. Just got out and got my paperwork which i had to wait for and pulled out. He then said something from his cab and I replied just because you hate your life do not take it out on others. He just shut up then. People who let their work get to them are just beyond help.

I’ve noticed in my 4 years of HGV driving.. clowns in cars can’t generally see indicators I fully expect the car driver to have said to themselves (during your long blast of the horn).. ‘arrogant truck driver.. what did I do wrong?!’

Going to ask a, probably, silly question. I'm mid 40's and a widower, now. Seriously thinking about doing what you do, no family so hours and whatnot don't matter. Only thing stopping me, is my little dog. She was the wife's(disabled) companion dog, always with her. She saw everything that happened and now is very anxious and clingy. Are there ANY decent companies that allow a little dog in the cab? Cheers, all.

And then moving home and starting my own business. ive done over 8+ years of Tramping I did enjoy it, But due to many issues it burnt me out and ive had enough. its Not worth it. any more. Any way I wish any one who is a Trucker or becoming all the best and I hope the industry improves, But something tells me it probably won't.

It's also strange when another drivers does something wrong and you sound your horn or if the window is open say something to them they will get out the car and start getting physically aggressive and want to fight and I'm like I only fucking said something or horned you and you want to fight are you serious. There was one occasion I was turning ot of a quite road but the exit was only wide enough for one car and as I was waiting to turn left out of the road a car stops on the road I am turning into and I go to pull out because she can't turn in, as I stat turning out she starts turning in, and has to go up onto the kerb nearly hits the front of my car then blocks the junction so I can't turn out because of where she is I'd hit rear with mine. So we are window to window and I say say "You've got no brains" and she says "you fucking what" and I shake my head and then she drives forward aggressively and I manage to pull out. She then turns around a follows me, I pull over and she gets out the car and says "get out the car then, come one" I said "No" and shit the window" and then she starts saying "I had right of way and I live there" as if living there gives you some kind of right or ownership over the road. She said something about how I was very rude. Sure I was rude, but you want to go to violence, I mean come on.

Yep separate done the reversing test on the Friday along with couple and uncouple then driving test on the Monday driving test is quiet easy so trust me nothing to worry about, Then the fun begins trying to get a job ive been trying 7 months now giving up for abit going back to my old job before i try round 2 in a few months.

I am a little done working with people.

Hi Jay, a bit of a weird question - do you remember what your prescription number was? I am studying for HGV Class 2 license and I wear glasses and the max is +8 diopters (whatever that means) I am just worried this will stop me getting my lorry license.
