Great video Jay, yeah there are some really nasty testing roads in Wales, doesn't help with the amount of rain we get here either, as that makes grass verges game over traps for trucks. it certainly tests a truckers abilities to the limits. 1 thing though you said that the trailer was in the last place you looked. why go looking for it after you found it, and coupled up to it?!! lol

Hi Jay, great video! I don’t suppose you were driving through Knaresborough at around 8:30am on the 01/10/18 In a Renault with a Maxi trailer on the back? I saw a guy looking similar to you but I wasn’t entirely sure it was you. The driver was wearing a Striped t-shirt or polo shirt i believe.

I see your travelling down the welsh lanes, this week, I do this most days & it’s a very different driving experience, once you turn off main roads. I deliver and collect eggs to and from nationwide, in artics and also rigids depending on the farm size. Been following you for a while, I started about 4 years ago & I would be interested to hear your thoughts on how you think the transport industry is as a whole? I hear many people saying their is no drivers that are young anymore and it doesn’t appeal to anyone as a long term career ..I’m 26, the U.K. is short of drivers, so why isn’t the wages going up? Is it all the foreigners keeping it down? Do you also think it’s a really un-healthy lifestyle doing tramping? Cheers. Sorry for the essay. So many questions haha

Alex Pritchard I’m 45 drove artics for 20 years up until a few years ago but got fed up with the stupid hours. I guess the wages stay the same as drivers are pretty easy to replace and will work for that salary don’t think it’s any to do with foreigners

You can reduce your rest x3 weekly. Ie 3x15 and 2x13.

I have a question: I know max drive time is 9h per 24h, and can be extended to 10h per 24h twice per 6 24h days. You can also reduce your rest from 11h to 9h thrice a week, does that mean you can drive more, or is it just that you can drive more if you still have drive time left but did other work that got you past the 13h so the rest has to be reduced to from 11h to 9h? Hope this makes sense, im really tired..

Basically mate, drive time can not change no matter how long the shift is. 9 hours driving a day that can extend to 10 hours twice in a fixed working week regardless if your day is 10 hours or 15.
