AK! What’s up bro.... please....please.....please ignore the haters. You are keeping it real old school style. I’ve driven truck coast to coast for over 20 years and have millions of miles under my belt. In the day Turing Cali runs at a mind numbing 225,000 miles a year. These were the days before elog. Don’t indulge the haters they don’t deserve any recognition or even the satisfaction of knowing it bothered you. I’m sure your dad is extremely proud of the son he has raised as any father would be. Don’t change, your doing it all right. Thank you for the videos I truly enjoy them. It’s awesome to see a local trucker showing and sharing his skills. Also, did you need to remove the flaps from the 1/4’s due to trailer interference? Noticed in the video they were gone. Talk at ya later! Peace......

I know it feels like a never ending list of repair items for the truck but it also feels really good to replace things here and there as you go, just making it better and better. I like how you take the extra time to do the little things like paint the metal assembly to make it look better.

Listen, I worked at Caterpillar’s engine division in Mossville, Illinois for 45 years and I wish half our customers were as faithful in doing engine maintenance. Also Detroit, Cummins and Cat engines leak at the front cover. More of a pain than a problem. I like how you prioritize your repairs. Tires should be next. Chrome is something that keeps your driven so forget all that crap from the rest of the world. Love watching you.

I have a '99 N14.. if it's not leaking, it's not running. It's just the way it is. I had my front cover replaced about 30k ago.. it slowed some leakage.. but not tons. Keep the fluids changed and try to stay in front of repairs. AK is in tune with his truck and pays attention.. he'll be okay. And as far as his chrome upgrades? He's spending hundreds.. not thousands. He's not blinging the shit out of his truck.. not even close.

Trucker AK. You have one of the best you tube trucker channels out there. You always have people that try to bring you down to try to make you fail. They are people who are mad at themselves for not trying to be successful like you are my friend. My best advice to you is to never acknowledge there comments. If they don’t have an audience they usually go away to their hole and hide. I love your classic and everything your doing with it. I’m jealous of your truck. It’s awesome. Thanks for your time
@TheRacer1144 жыл бұрын
AK,I personally think you've done a great job on the truck with all of the upgrades. I've been watching since you bought this truck. I've seen where it was when you got it and the BIG difference in it now. At the end of the day,you're the one that has to ride,eat and sleep in that truck. That's your office,that's where you make your living. It's yours!! I doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about what you've done to it. So far all I've observed is improvements that had to be done. You do what makes you happy and comfortable in YOUR truck/office. There's no need in you being stuck in there and miserable. Make it as comfortable and as reliable as possible. Keep up the GREAT work and I look forward to your next video.. Sorry for the long post,but it is what it is.. Stay safe out there my friend and keep on truckin!!

Doing things as you can afford to do them, makes good economic sense. Its a journey you are on and it will take time to bring the truck completely back. But at the end of the journey you will have a nice and fully dependable truck. At the end of the day you will be way ahead of the person who has a new truck with a large payment. You will have the luxury of being able to pick the loads you want to run, because you have a low overhead. Having a father that is willing to help on the projects is pretty cool too. Its your long term plan, keep focusing down the road and let the negative people go pound sand.

Like I've said to you before the reason I watch you is for the owner/operator inside since I'm a 32 year company driver (day cab) with the same company and I work my 10 hours Monday thru Friday and go home, the company owns the truck and they repair it and every 2 years I get a new one (2020 Freightliner Cascadia). Its fun to watch what you go thru keeping the truck on the road. You spend a lot of time replacing things and updating the truck and thats a good thing. People need to see that its not all honking the horn waving to pretty girls driving down the highway and that its work to keep a 20 year old truck moving down the road. Or you could be spending $7000 a month on a new one and we could hear you complain about not being able to afford to drive it. Keep it up.

Man these haters will hate whatever you do. They hate because they can't do it. I admire the fact you do most of.your own work to the truck. Yes owning a truck and fixing g it is very costly. Hey buddy don't sweat those comments, it's your truck, your $, your life. Me personally I think you have done a good job. I'm a fan of the Classic XL, and truck parts no matter what it is ain't cheap..
@marinescott77904 жыл бұрын
The cheaper tires would be for like when you were running containers, but for running cross country, I would for sure have a better tire, hopefully with some roadside assistance. I think you are approaching it the right way as far as maintenance goes, and choosing your loads to obtain the goal is smart. Some time I wonder why you replace some parts, but being a truck that you "rescued" it makes good sense. It's easy to judge when you aren't on the road, or never been on the road. Being OTR for 14 yrs.,( 20yrs ago) I understand. Keep on gettin' it down the road, & be safe.

When I'm really tired I use both feet shoved against bumper. You might not remember but I'm a female trucker proud of all the work you do caring for your ClassicXL. Mine is purple 💜 w/ pink pinstripes. Never seen another like it. The 12.7 Detroit series 60 has over 2 million miles and 2 inframe rebuilds. Forget about all the Trolls they're jealous. All that matters is your happy and enjoy the miles driven in owned ClassicXL. Like the longer videos.

Hey trucker AK I don’t know how the haters feel about your rant but I personally loved it. You’re right, most people have no freakin idea how much it costs to keep that piece of equipment on the road and keeping it reliable and economical. Keeping it in good repair is like having a whole separate job over and above driving the truck and hauling the loads that pay for that maintenance. I drove Otr for 20 yrs. I’ve driven company trucks and I’ve driven for owner operators and I took part in the maintenance of that O/O truck. It’s expensive as hell and it’s hard work. You drive all week and work on the truck all weekend. Something always needs doing on an older truck. Anyway, I’ve been watching your channel for a while and you seem to have your priorities in order. You work hard and save up to buy things instead of running up huge credit card debt. That’s the way to go about it. Anybody who thinks you’re not doing it right can kiss my ass on the way over to kiss yours! Keep the good content coming and keep on truckin driver! Come on!

You chose well in your decision. 2 things i wish i had done was Investing in a Good High Quality Comfortable Drivers Seat trust me your lower back will thank you, and an APU, Less hours on the engine, less wear and tear, also get a bunk heater. I broke down on I80 east of Evanston and damn near froze if it wasnt for my -20 sleeping bag i probably wouldn't be here.

Maybe it's the best choice for you but don't assume it's the best choice for everyone just because you failed.

@@jphill3426 ^^^^ This Guy. First Off I didn't fail. I still own my equipment, we use it for mine and my dads side gig restoring old equipment. And i run a Power plant/Central utilities plant at a hospital. I make over 100k salary plus Bonuses. I just chose to be home with my wife and kid and use my rig for personal.

I don’t see three thousand jp hill trucks going down the road are you a failure
@jphill34264 жыл бұрын
Dane Blackburn pretty hard to fail at something that never started. Also not sure what the number of trucks has to do with success. The guy said he was better off at someone elses company than his own. That is failure.

@Camrom Megyesi unfortunately most 18 wheeler replacement parts and OEM parts are made in Mexico, Brazil, China, non-USA. So we can all scream at a former USA president named Ragean who convinced us all in America implementing NAFTA agreements will help USA 🇺🇸 Which we all NOW know did the opposite. Taking away majority of American factories, closing textile plants, GM, Ford, Chrysler, closed all USA manufacturing plants and left 🇺🇸 in turmoil. Think its been close to 40 years since we got shafted. Thank GOD pres. Trump stepped in and STOPPED NAFTA his1st term in oval office. Trump is revolking FMCSA changes that have ruined our trucking industry by 4:1 every 4 new regs are reversed and FMCSA can keep 1.

If you can drive on the Bridgestones for 2-3 years and only 1-1.5 years on Ironmans remember that you're not spending any more money on tires. The initial investment might be higher but longer term might actually be less.

By you giving these trolls this much camera time, you're letting them win. They want to frustrate you enough to want to speak about it on camera. Nobody even really sees the negative comments (I know you do) but you don't have to explain this to the real fans of you man.
