Plastic Bumpers on rigs? lol. I had a B-double tap my tray couple weeks back, just from the traffic lights nothing bad at all. In the moment i thought i stuffed up and stalled, but still on the clutch, engine running. No damage at all to either vehics, B-double driver very decent. Turns out he could not see over his bonnet to the end of my tray, all he saw was the tall bulky packs i had on. We shook hands and kept on going with our day, no biggy. RIP Jakey-Boy.. Thank You Tez and gang :)

Bloke that hit the bridge.... He needed to get out of the truck, walk around taking deep breaths 'til he settled down. Only getting himself more and more rattled while reversing blind.

Oh my good god, that was sooooo painful watching that guy reversing that single. Any wonder old mate got him to get out, he would have been there all day, but who knows he may have been on his first trip after getting his HC. All them people watching wouldn’t have done his nerves any good either, poor bastard. 😁😎

yes you need to walk a mile in the other guys shoes! Once you get flustered when in experienced - nothing helps!

Yep, we dooz have the best. I started with a Bedford J Series carting wool bales, hand load & hand unload, & finished up with the best truck I ever had, the mighty KW T904, Cat C16, 22 Series Eaton RR, super steers on spiders on 9 ton axle, spiders on six rod rear, aerodyne walk in sleeper, Red Dot air con, 6 x 500 ltr round tanks etc., etc. I did over 5 million with it. But here's a horror story, & I can tell you, that you can be as experienced as you like, you will still get caught out. For a time, I had a tip top cream run. Perth to Argyle (diamond mine) just short of Kunnunurra, pulling triple flat tops. I liked to push it a bit on the first 2 days, because that then got me rolling into Argyle at 3 or 4 pm on the 3rd day with time for a shower, & a washing machine load at the gatehouse, before hitting the worlds best mess & an early night. Mate that mess, was on another level, & cribbing up huge at both dinner & breakfast would feed me all the way back. Hence why I pushed the first 2 days. So day 2 & I'd get to Roebuck Roadhouse at the T junction Broome, just before they closed at 10pm. Top up a few hundred litres to get me back to cheaper fuel at Hedland on the way home, & a shower. Then I'd head north 10 kms out to the lovely quiet off the road & in the bush truck bay, dog tired to sleep from 11pm until 4.30 am before rolling up day 3. I'd been doing this for about a year & had it down pat, so all I was looking for that night was the blue truck bay sign. & see it I did, & in I went 2 & 1/2 trailers deep in the narrow single lane entry road, when to my horror there in front of me was a round caravan park almost fully built, with roofed steel shelters, water tanks, toilets, concrete picnic tables, the whole looking fantastic on a small dirt pad with shade trees. The 2 man crew who had been building it came out of their caravan stunned to see a road train in there, I was stunned to be there, & in my confusion I asked "how, wtf"?, they said it was a caravan rest area, I said, "yeah but, yeah but, the blue truck bay sign"? & the man replied, "Oh that, ours hasn't arrived yet, so we got it of the truck bay 1 km up the road meanwhile. I've already told you that it's 11pm, the entry/exit road is narrow single, there is half a 3rd trailer still out on the bitumen, & that its all dirt, but I haven't yet mentioned that its in the tropics & very wet. It took me until nearly 3am, to break it up & pull each trailer, & each dolly completely in singly, stashing them between the shelters, tanks & park furniture by backing them into the bush, to clear the only entry/exit, then hook them all up again singly, pull them out & up the road to the real truck bay & re-assemble the train there. The pad may have been compacted good enough for a caravan but it was no match for the truck, & being wet it it got done with the diff locks in & their beautiful little park was all just churned deep mud. There have been other notables over the years, but man, I'll never forget that night.

That truck that got backed into at the beginning was actually a Navistar, the brand that emerged when International went tits up. Edit: The same truck was rebadged as a CAT for a short time some years ago with the odd one still getting around Australian roads.

By "people who shouldn't be driving trucks", do you mean those who can't tell the difference between 4-5 metres and 10+? Or those who think that the truck with an Internatinal badge is a Volvo?
