Thanks man def appreciate your content, would love to see a video with recommendations on how to grow your trucking business in the current market and whether or not you think it’s a wise move to purchase a second or third truck when freight rates are relatively lower than the previous years. Would also like to hear how long it took for you to generate and see a profit after you were granted authority and got your truck as well as how long it took you to start the business itself. More specifically if you had to cover any of the fixed or variable expenses out of pocket for a while before you were able to turn a profit when you first started out. Thanks

Hello good morning, I hope you are very well, excellent content on your KZbin channel, I have a question for you, I currently have my Dot number active, which will begin to operate intrastately in Texas, but my question is the following if I request the MC number I know that it takes approximately 20 to 25 to activate after sending the insurance policy, for approval, could I work locally while my authorization to leave interstate arrives since I would have my DOT active, or by making the report and requesting interstate operations would I no longer be able to work locally?

Its crazy...so many different explanation and different rules...i even spoke with people from compliance departments and they say i need a mc# even though im not crossing state line...i have a 16ft box truck...smh...feels like im throwing away money for insurance and may not need to...more research i will be doing

Here in Indiana, MC isn’t required if not crossing state lines. Once you complete the MCS-150 and answer the questions according to your type of business, they (FMCSA) will tell you what further requirements you have

QUESTION, So in PA if someone wanted to become an Interstate carrier but didn't want to wait the 21 days for the mc# to become active to move freight. Would you suggest getting the US Dot# then registering with PUC to start hauling intrastate , then applying for the mc# in order to cut having your equipment not making any money those 21 or so days?
