Watching you makes me want to put my CB in my van. Wish I knew someone that could tune in my Coax, my husband handled all that and I don't remember how to do it. I miss hearing some of the chatter. Loved hearing the guys bragging about their kids and family, really made it clear who were good husbands and fathers that appreciated and loved their families. I know what you mean about the cars staying on your side with their lights hitting your mirrors and blinding you, they do that to me all the time in my mini van!!! I try to reposition all my mirrors so they don't blind me, then with I had my cousin's rig that had the work lights facing back, then I could give them a taste of their own medicine. Any time I come up on a slow moving rig, I do everything to pass him quickly so my headlights don't interfere with his vision. Stay safe out there!!!

I've always told my kids if you are ever unsure of the road conditions, follow a truck. It came in hand once when we were driving cross country in a small car and hit a super cell. Bad car accident in it, but the FedEx truck we followed got us through all the rain and the accident. He zigzag, and we followed. Once we were though all that, we took off. My daughter was driving at the time and totally freaked out because the rain was so heavy she could hardly see the truck trailer that was 20 yards ahead.

As always a pleasure to sit in the passenger seat and watch a true trucker do his thing and get the goods to its destination, no matter the weather conditions - bit like the Pony Express, only they changed horses every so often and you keep what you have. Cheers Mike.

11 tons, you must be making king change to haul that to Sacramento. You got a good hot shot dispatcher! I have drove those roads and totally get how to drive the mountains. I give you kudos bro. People that don't know how to use the gears properly end up in trouble on the ice slicked grades. You do an excellent job of holding traction on icy hills.

Hey everyone, funny how the road changes from one day to the next. Went to Denver on the 25th of March on perfectly dry roads and now Mike is traveling two days later in this and today Friday the 2nd there was hardly any traffic and super roads. Fastest trip west in a long time. Although i think we really like those adverse condition videos, we will take what he gives. Say anyone from the western slope watch these besides me? And also Carly, Mike carries what the boss tells him to haul. That's not his decision. Still lookin for the chickn!!!!!!!!!

That semi that we saw heading the other direction would have been something to witness when it happened but for sure not be involved in. Every time I hear MMM tell the story about the driver he aspired to be that passed him going "so fast" I always ponder if he ever wondered what that driver was thinking? He could have been some wild guy on his last day about to be fired, in debt and soon to be divorced needing to use the restroom not entirely thinking clearly. ;) Now we have MMM living on the edge every day when he drives in the bad weather. lol ......... or not.

All these years engineers have worked on traction, fuel economy, comfort, safety but can't figure out how to make a system were the fucking windshield wipers and heating /cooing can keep a window clear on a 8o,ooo lb truck in a snow or rain storm.. Unbelieveable.

Hi Mike, Fantastic episode, interesting insight, can l ask how do you go on for getting paid when you are delayed by loading, or as you say at the start of the video delays by the other driver being late, does the company pay you for waiting / down time not driving due to factors outside outside your control? Stay safe Dave in the UK

Typically when a car follows a truck move for move, it means they cannot see and they are using you as a guide. I've done this before but I did not realize how annoying it is for the trucker. Sorry about that, Mike!
