Hey Alex. G is for gross and T is for tare. Gross is with the load. T was your empty weight. That's a platform scale most likely at the shipper. You have to axle yourself out. Pull just steers on. Note weight. Pull steers and drives on. Note weight. Subtract first weight from second to get the drive weight. Weigh whole truck and trailer. Note gross weight. Subtract second weight from this to get tandem axle weight.

@@jeff7764 Okay to better explain.. The scale that weighs the trucks only factors in 1 axle at a time! Steer Axle weight, Drive axle, Tandem Axle Weight. Now G on the paper work had 66,000 Thats his weight for the entire truck. Trailer cab and all, Now the T weight was 33,680 which is his weight for the entire truck EMPTY! Nothing in it they keep record of this to know how much they can actually load the trailer with before its illegal. Company also uses this to know how much weight in material they send out per quarter.

The reason I don't put my gloves in my truck is because I use my gloves for everything.... Getting fuel, drop/hook to trailers, open trailer doors, etc. and you will get diesel fuel, grease, and dirt all over your gloves.

Most newer trucks have a suspension gauge that tells you the psi on your drive axles. Don’t rely on it until you get some more experience. But pay attention to it, and note what the psi is empty, then the psi when loaded. This can sometimes help you if the shipper doesn’t have a scale. It gives you a chance to ballpark your adjustments before heading to a certified scale. And hopefully saves you some money and especially time from making several re-weighs.

You should go to scale every single time you cannot trust the shipper plus you're playing with numbers that you are not sure of and you're making assumptions about the weight and where it is that can get you into trouble if you get pulled into a scale house
