Brother, I’m so sorry to hear that! I have a 2005 Duramax diesel crew cab white with a ranch hard cover. I drove mine all over South Dakota Wyoming North Dakota and Colorado. She has never let me down. The only way you can beat this “bidennomics” BS is to keep what you got. I also have a 2004 Sierra crew cab which is an everyday driver. I’m old so I won’t be buying a new one. I hope the police find your truck but a lot of them go down south of the border.

I put over 40K into my old 2008 2500HD Duramax/Allison last year. Im the second owner. It had 427,xxx miles when I decided to keep it and rebuild it. I will never get the $$$$ back that I have put into it over the 9 years that I have owned it but I will always need a HD truck so keeping it is just fine with me. Somewhere in the 60k range invested over 9 years? I have put 350,000 miles on the truck since 2015 and most of these miles were towing for my business so it has paid and continues to pay for itself. The truck (body) now has over 460,000 miles and still looks and drives great. I dont think I would take 60K cash for it to be honest. I could not replace what I have for 60K in todays market. FJB

Yes it's totally worth it. That truck is just as good, if not better, and just as new, without any modern BS to worry about and still actually cheaper. I justify spending money on my old Duramax with this logic to people all the time.

Simply stuff an LML with upgraded pump in a 01 vin truck with an interior swap and and 06 hd front. Emissions not required when placing newer engines in older vehicle. Unless your state/county requires it, even so it’s only the admissions standards of that year. Stuff I good cat and run I clean tune, if you’d even need one. The ability of that tuning platform can leave a pretty clean trail. A truly forever truck. That is if the frame is good. 😂

Personally i prefer the rebuild because you get exactly whst you wsnt when your done. You get to eliminate any possible recalls or issues thst a new truck is guaranteed to have over the firdt few years especially, and its fully built, your not buying a brand new 2024 truck with compound turbos and all the other work done to it like the trans and etc.. and when it's all done you have the color you want. The performance you want, And you know exactly what you have. And you dont have to deal with the maasive headached of emissions and etc..😊💙💙💙

I did a rebuild on my 1975 ford f-100 l paid $5,100.00 for I new I spent over $7,000.00 rebuilding it ,didn't make much sence but what can I say
@funny-clips705 ай бұрын
What’s all done to the bottom end? I what to compound turbo my truck sometime in the future!
I agree, for you it makes total sense to do this build, you get to partner with people who then get their name out in terms of sponsorships, and you get paid to make the content, and we all get to enjoy it. But if you aren't a youtuber it makes it a lot harder of a decision, unless you just have disposable money, but there is also no way I could afford one of the newer trucks. The one big difference is you can get a loan on a new truck, you could put parts and stuff on your credit card, but very hard to finance a build. The other thing is what you plan to do with a new truck, even though this is cheaper, you still couldn't tow as much if you plan on towing massive toy haulers or campers or be a hauler for a business, then you have to be super legal and not go over your GVWR. I really don't like the newer trucks emissions and all that stuff, but I have a friend with a 2022 GMC 3500 and it rides so much better than my 02 GMC 2500. Granted I don't have all the front end replaced with Kryptonite, I replaced a lot with Moog, but still need to do the steering box. The new trucks also have all the fancy electronics, like cameras and stuff, which are cool, but whats going to happen to those in 20 years, are all the sensors and cameras and computers going to still work? The only thing I wish your truck was is a crew cab. I plan to do some basic mods to my truck, I want to pull the bed and paint the frame to prevent rust, but won't do powder coat. I also need to do the cab corners and rockers. After that I probably won't do too much to it. You should consider on your next build maybe get a newer truck that has over 100k miles and maybe the emissions junked the engine, then swap an older pre emmision deisel engine into it, then you would have best of both, a newer truck that can tow more and the better engines.

I'm about half way through the video and before I even finish watching it, hands down I'd rather spend that kinda money fully restoring my current truck when the time comes instead of buying a new one. There's a million reasons why so no point in listing them, but if my truck survives long enough to see at least 300k miles (hopefully more like 350k), I am 100% fully restoring and rebuilding it so it'd be like owning a brand new truck built exactly how I want. It's 2-3k miles short of hitting 250k, with the exception of regular maintenance and replacing some little things here & there simply because they got worn out mainly due to age and mileage, my truck's been more reliable than any vehicle I've ever owned.
