Heck I'm running an all electric system. Positive part is no fuels to worry with, Con part is electrical fires from shorts, overheating, or water dribbling onto things is just as bad and i already had a close call when a hose connection was leaking near the tank and spraying over onto the electrical box. It blew the fuse and breaker .. but imagine if it hadn't

You make some valid points. Not even portable users are exempt from fires. There have been so many lately I felt good to address the subject. What machine are you using Thomas?

I am running the Rotovac Ranger system and even tho its not supposed to be truck mounted, i leave everything in the van and run long hoses into the house. (2" to the floor) I also use a Mytee inline heater and i do have a diesel hotlink burner for heating tank water, i don't use it as often as just the ranger tank and just hot tap water and the Mytee booster. The hose that burst was in the back of the ranger tank from the pump head outlet to the pressure line. It was blowing water all over the electrical connectors for the ranger switches and where the power connectors are from the houses line. I worried at first when i saw it arc out because the floor of my van is plywood (2001 E250, 250,000k, mostly rust) and a fire would be devastating because everything is either plastic, or wood in the van. I Do keep a 5lb ABC extinguisher mounted right on the back door (everything enters/exits the rear doors) so that if there was a fire i don't have to climb into the van and the extinguisher is where i can grab it in a hurry. I would LOVE a new van and proper truck mounted system, but being only in second year of running this business i'm having to start from the ground up and starting somewhere :)

My bosses truckmount caught on fire because my co worker rested 2x4 wood on a part of the the motor that gets super hot and the wood caught on fire then the truck mount. We were cleaning an apartment in the apartment building the fire alarm went off in the building. That’s how we knew

One more reason I like to back on the street or just away from the house or building. I had a box truck start on fire lucky I was parked away from the building

Mark vaars absolutely. Of course number one reason is carbon monoxide poisoning. We recommend at least 20 feet away for our techs. Actually it’s in our standard operating procedures. Cant be too safe these days.

I remembered about when Truckmount Fires is called overloaded and core breach. that it is. I am sorry about that. that's what happens when carpet cleaning companies members don't maintain the truckmount systems. it will get less airflow and suction. it will overload the Truckmount machines I am disappointed about that. the positive way is to maintain the Truckmount machines when it's complete maintained the Truckmount machines will active longer so it will.
