It's videos like this one that make me wish my wife would not be a heated seats fanatic. A WT Silverado, or XL/STX Ford would work just fine for me. But it is what it is, I'm willing to spend the extra money. Plus they are nice in the winter.

The last truck I bought was a 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Z71. I bought the basic LT model and I added my own stereo system from Alpine in there which was way better than what came from the factory. It came with an all new bezel for it and it also relocated some of the switches on the dash which made it look a lot better than it did when it came stock from the factory. It came with the Bose stereo system but when I added the Alpine it made those bose speakers sound a lot better than the factory radio which was a low powered unit. Also remember a lot of the aftermarket accessories for trucks are a lot better than some of the stuff that comes from the factory. Don't buy all the bells and whistles add that stuff yourself. Keep the truck cost low when you order it or buy it and add everything in the weeks to come after you get it. You'll save money that way. I also did that for my 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD which I still have today and only has 56,700 mi on it. It's a 6.0 liter with non-active fuel management. I do all my preventive maintenance on it and it is still running great. It'll probably run a lot longer than the 2017 .

Thats the idea I have about buying a Chevy Colorado Trail Boss and adding a 2" lift to the factory 2" lift, putting on 17" rims and 34" all terrain tires, then skid plates to basically make it a ZR2 but doing it over time so I don't have to get a $53K msrp which I can get at about $46K ZR2 but get a $43K msrp Tail Boss and get it for $38K instead and add the stuff overtime so I don't have to get a bigger truck loan.

@RossMalagarie that's the smart way of doing it. A lot of times people get mesmerized by all these brand new vehicles and they don't use common sense. It's best to buy this stuff aftermarket because a lot of times like I said the aftermarket parts are a lot better than the factory. Make the right decision and good luck with your purchase. Also as they said on this channel baby these vehicles these days. Use synthetic motor oil and change it at 3,500 to 5000. I know it sounds Overkill but these engines are not made like they used to be and you have to baby them. The more cleaner oil that runs through the life of that engine the better it's going to be in the long run. Don't listen to the dealer and don't go by what the the owner's manual sez change the oil early. I recently tried out the Pennzoil Platinum in my 2017 Silverado 2500 hd. The oil runs really good through the motor and it really quiets the motor down. My motor isn't noisy and there's nothing wrong with it but I can just hear the slight difference in the engine. Good oil to use I recommend. Not sure about the ultra Platinum I would stay away from that just stick with the Platinum. Good luck!

Gasser Ram 2500 Big Horn Night Edition for $54k near me, MSRP of $68k. According to the disclaimers doesn’t have any add on packages not included in the price. Comes with running boards, rubber floor mats, and factory bed liner. 2 years maintenance and free car washes for life.

How many people actually need a 3/4 ton pickup truck, and how many actually need a Diesel? Can you even find a 2wd pickup any more? 4wd adds a lot of mechanical stuff to a truck. A lot more stuff to break. Oh and how about a manual transmission?

I just picked up a 24 Silverado Trail Boss Custom 4x4 with the Turbomax engine. I paid $39k at 1.9% for 60 months. The deals are there and I have been waiting for the end of the month/year to pull the trigger. MSRP was $52k, after incentives, cash on the hood, a couple grand down, I was able to get it under 40k. Yes its a "basic" trim but I did not "NEED" all the fancy tech and was not looking to pay more for insurance/taxes due to higher price. I did my research and figured the Turbomax engine has been showing a pretty good track record for reliability to include I think the Silverado Trail Boss is the best bang for your buck Off Road Truck out there right now. I was a Ford fan but I think GM is making better vehicles today. I rather modify a Custom trim to my liking and keep the vehicle cost low. I also negotiated on a Colorado TB but the Silverado deals are way too good to pass up plus I am a fullsize truck guy.

Can’t get one in the $30k range here in Canada unless you go used. That being said Chevy seems to have pretty good value for $$. Though still too expensive!

I have recently been looking at new Colorados in the basic trims. Look CAREFULLY before you buy. Many do not have a tow hitch, and have downsized to donut spare! I hate where they cut costs in these areas.

Keep holding out until the market readjust in 2025. Don't buy until they come down 30-35% off MSRP. We are on the cusp of better prices soon but we're still several months from true to wages prices
@sweepzoneflip5 сағат бұрын
You've got to think that most of those prices aren't including dealer add ons on Auto trader. Just spent a week looking at Frontiers around TX and out of the 30 or so dealerships I called, only three listed the actual price. And even though they all had multiple cars on the lot, there was very little room for negotiation. I found a P4X in a bordering state and had it shipped for a better price than I could find anywhere in TX.
@Jason-Samko5 сағат бұрын
@sweepzoneflip you have to shop around and knowing how to negotiate helps. But the deals are out there. And traveling to get a better deal is what I have to do too

I've seen some new 24 base model frontiers (S 2wd) listed at 26k (10k off sticker) at my local Nissan dealers. There are some deals to be had out there, especially for a work truck.
@JMNovak10116 сағат бұрын
Its all depends on what your wants and needs are. Can you get a truck for a lower price... sure. But your talking in full size WTs, LTs, or Customs with the older interiors and limited options. And mid size you can get a decent truck but again lower options. If you want to play your going to have to pay. Anything well optioned is going to jump the price up alot. It is end of year and dealers are trying to clear inventory so now would be the time to get a deal.

@Jason-Samko thank you and have a Merry Christmas. It's the infamous coolant control valve on the 3.0 Duramax it went out at 56K. GM is taking care of it under warranty and providing a rental car but it's a car and with my lifestyle I need a truck. It has already been at the dealership for two weeks and the part is on backorder with an ETA of 4-7 more weeks. 6-9 weeks of down time on a pickup less than 18 months old is just not acceptable
@Jason-Samko7 сағат бұрын
