Wow such a pretty truck! We have a Volvo at my own work (i do not drive it unfortunately) You will find her on you tube as Volvo made a video about her since its a special edition 6 wheeler tipper with a lovely cab rap. The cabs from the video you have just showen seem very similar too. I wish you many happy miles in her and im not even denying it...... Im sooo jealous! Offers stil open for a truck swap..... :)

it maybe 750 BHP but it will still only do 56mph. You was offered a chance to drive it Luke and like me you took the chance to have it as your next vehicle. Your only doing what other truck drivers would do. one word GIT! lol

I've driven many American volvo trucks. The self adjusting seats are amazing. I wish we could get the European Volvo engines over here. That would be amazing!

Nice vid of a glorious truck. The last Volvo FH I drove was back in 2002 when I drove one of the very earliest 1993 model 380 belonging to a friend of mine. It had over a million kms on it and whilst being comfortable and typically Volvo to drive - it had not the guts to pull the skin off of the proverbial rice pudding. Running with another driver in his Scania P400 he gave up waiting for me to catch up with him on every hill. That aside..a quality truck and eons ahead of my learners F7 in 89'

Luke excellent new truck. I also view this as a career, If a person views this as a job he or she wont drive for long and will most likely hate our loved lifestyle. I cant personally imagine living in that space but i am used to my mobile townhome. Again Luke congrats on your new ride and "ONWARD!!"

You wont regret the change to the volvo! I was forced from a Scania to the new volvo not at 750 unfortunatly lol.. But i would never want a scania again they drive soo much better and just all round a better truck! Onward

Yay! I said it was a Nissan!!! The Irish fleets were big on importing Japanese trucks in the late seventies/ early eighties and a company called Harris licence-built Hino's in Ireland for a number of years (maybe they still do?). Hino was well known at the time, and I remember features in the transport press (Trucking international) with other Japanese machines like Fusos which you didn't see in the rest of Europe at the time, but I didn't know heavyweight Nissans were imported too.

I like the Volvos, My only complaint with mine is the tiny tanks. I used to have massive tanks and I could drive for thee to four days on a full tank. Now I have a newer one with the add blue tank and filters everywhere the tanks have been made a lot smaller. Would love a go in the fh16 750 though.

Looking good Luke. I drive one between Valencia to England with tiles. You will love the power, I run 6x2 tag and she loves running at 44t. I agree with you over Scania. Scania are great trucks but the FH16 feels that extra bit special compared to a Scania V8.

So you've got an FH16 750 but it's only the 4x2 configuration? Don't get me wrong, it's a truly gorgeous truck, but why the 4x2, surely for such an expensive and powerful truck the 6x2 or 6x4 axle configuration would be better?

Depends how much weight you are planning to tow.if you are going to tow a lower weight then 6x2 would be a cheaper option.

You made the right choice, (i may be a bit Biased towards volvo) I think they are superior as my dad drives a volvo fm12 for Capper (in Dungannon). I found this lorry for Euro truck simulator 2 and today i drove from Abberdeen to Geneve. ONWARDS

Is there much demand for truck drivers in the UK at the moment? I was a forklift driver and always heard from drivers about how little work there is, but I read the opposite online. I'd love a change of career and get on the road but not too sure where one would start with zero experience..PS been checking the channel every day for the Portugal video, keep up the good work Luke!
