Hey everyone! As a reminder, our shop is only servicing our own fleet and owner operator's rigs. We are not servicing trucks outside of this at the moment! If you are in Chicago and want to join a company that has its own dedicated shop - you can apply at erateam.us Keep trucking!

Is it worth buying a Big Rig or a 3500 duel rear pick-up for hot-shot-trucking
@TruckYoo5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the loads but Big Rig will always be more comfortable to drive. Components last longer too. So if you have a CDL go for a big rig and pull bigger and heavier loads.

If look awhile you can find 2 axle air ride tractor are the best hot shot need under 500 k miles

I spot a 2007 volvo d13 with only 400hp. I wonder if that enough for pulling a full size truck loads across the states?
@TruckYoo5 жыл бұрын
D13 would be 2008 and up. I would not recommend:)

Are you going up hill or down hill across the states. If uphill, maybe not. If down hill, it’s too much power.

Hey I found a 2016 Volvo 670 with 430,000k miles for 45k... the private seller said he purchased it from tec equipment a few months ago but is selling it because he couldn’t find a driver.. his company has a few trucks and truck shop... should I be worried? I will be getting a inspection from a different shop
@TruckYoo4 жыл бұрын
Take it for a PPI. I think you can also find them cheaper. I just bought 2016 with 390K for 41K with warranty

Truck Yoo I called the dealer they said they got the truck because it was repoed and was beaten up very bad so they sold it to him for 19.5k to “fix it up” and he is asking 47k. Is this a BIGGGG red flag?

Another great vid. What percentage of cost (on average) would you advise on budgeting for maintenance/repairs?
@TruckYoo4 жыл бұрын
As much as you can. Create an escrow account and build it up to a number you are happy with. Let’s say 15K then you can sleep not worried about your bills.

Thanks Sebastian for ALL the videos they are just great!! I am in the Peoria/Central Illinois, Is there someone trustworrhy in the Chicago/Joliet area I can pay to go with me and run diagnostics on a used truck (cash purchase) between Peoria and Chicago. Lots of trucks, I cannot afford a mistake. I am probably looking at a Pete 579 or Freightliner Cascadia Evo or newer, around 300k-400k miles. 2017 or newer. Some of the available trucks had an issue at 250k-350k and that is why they are available. Thanks again to you and your team! Best on the internet!!

@megatrantrucking82564 жыл бұрын
I had to give you a thumbs down and here’s why. No one is going to tell you the truth about why they are selling the truck if the reason is bad, nor will they admit to you that you’re going to have to replace thousands of dollars worth of parts. You can oil test all you want before buying a truck, because if there is metal present in the oil, all the seller has to do is put fresh oil in it before they sell it and never run it on the yard. So you will be testing fresh oil with no shavings. Some good info in this video...... obvious stuff, but not enough for a thumbs up!

What would you recommend drivers do instead Bradford?

Truck Yoo They should drive,no future in truck ownership nowadays.
@lizs12615 жыл бұрын
Bradford Ramm That’s like telling a chef to just keep cooking and not open their own restaurant. There’s tons of opportunities out there and just like any business, you have to weigh the pros and cons of each side. There will always be a future for it, if may just look different than it does today. Innovation and adaptation is significant for every industry.
@NoName-tz5ji5 жыл бұрын
Liz S most of these idiots stay in business just long enough to keep the rates down which hurts every single driver out there. I started in the eighties before all this and enjoyed great benefits and pay then came the the flood of the school trained CDL era morons and independents now the pay is shit. I’m giving it up this week enjoy suckers and drones!
@TruckYoo5 жыл бұрын
Bradford Ramm you have a point. There are more trucks on the road nowadays then loads but don’t forget 2018 needed that capacity. It had to come from somewhere so guys started buying trucks and getting into the business without really understanding anything about trucks. That has been correcting in 2019 and as you hear in the media about big trucking companies going out nobody talks about how many owner ops went out of business because you can’t really measure it. As any industry, you have to take the good with the bad, but there are still plenty of opportunities out there. Sounds like you have been in the industry for a but so you’ve seen the ups and down many times. It’s just another down that we will get through. Good luck!

@@bigdee2333 dude check yourself you must be a newbie I've purchased 3 trucks and have over 2 million miles. These man gave good info. However like I stated most truckers will NOT follow through with his suggestions. Specially new buyers. If you need to watch videos on purchasing a truck which is all pretty much Common sense you need to rethink being an owner operator. Folks won't usually plug a lap top and other things that truly reveal a trucks flaws. I'm not hating on the video. I only wrote my comment so that drivers who see it will not skip corners and do and ask what these video suggest.
