#cuttheclutter
After Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party lost a critical bypoll in its Toronto pocket borough and latest polling data shows his approval rating at a mere 28% and disapproval at 66% in April 2024, he seems to be facing an electoral train wreck. In Episode 1475 of Cut The Clutter, Editor-in-Chief Shekhar Gupta discusses the implications for Canada's politics and likely return of the Conservative Party.

Totally wrong analysis. Trudeau is loosing because People here vote based on how economy is doing unlike India where people vote for religion, caste etc. America is similar to India people who vote for conservative will vote for conservative not matter what happens. Canada is a normal democracy. There is no group in majority so a politician cannot come and say that group is the root of your problem. No politician will come and say well Muslim are the problem in Canada. Even the conservative does not do that here. Now they do have some conservative agendas and they have some support for those agendas but they will never win just with that. So they are targeting Trudeau for his incompetence in handling economy which has caused cost of living becoming a serious problem for an average Canadian. Will the new government will have any change toward India . Answer is Big no.(He will be Canadian Prime Minister not Indian Prime Minister. Canada is the center of World not India) Will the new government will change cost of living situation for Canada. Answer is No (All politician know they dont have any solution to the problem. But it is thier job to convince the masses that they have.) Short term We are going to see a lot of pain in Canada for next 5 to 10 years. But long term Canada will be a great place to be. Indian subcontinent will become unlivable in the next 25-50 years due to climate change but No such problem for Canada. Canada is a massive country with abundance of Natural resources most of which is not even discovered. It has a very solid educational system and educated masses. It can also use immigration to boost its population. It just need to immigrate the right kind of people.

Liberals are going to lose this time around. Fatigue being the primary reason more than anything. But do not accept anything from the Conservatives too. Basically India should provide a platform for Quebec separatists in my opinion. Fund them I guess. Encourage quebec and some Indian city links or something. Basically you cannot stop them from protesting, but you can increase cost of using the diaspora as vote banks. I have no idea why Canadians, particularly Sikhs, would want to implicate the foreign policy of a country that has given them shelter for perceived historical wrongs to be honest. I feel for Canada, opens doors and then these folks conspire to involve them in their bitter politics. Canada is meaninglessly being dragged in all this if you ask me.

It would be wrong to call 2011 as a “Harper tsunami”, as Harper added only 23 seats and 2% to the Tories’ vote share over the last election in 2008. 2011 would be better characterised as an “NDP orange wave”, as the late Jack Layton took his party from a minor third party to the Official Opposition, on the back of an unprecedented performance in Quebec. Quebec used to be the bedrock of Liberal support nationwide, which saw fierce battles between the Liberals and the independence side (BQ/PQ/UN/CAQ). The NDP won 59 of the 75 seats on offer in Quebec, while making gains in BC and ON.

Trudeau has a unique ability of deflecting serious questions around on woke issues and then the people will around will and make others to cheer and eventually shut you down. Ex: In you ask him about the rising prices and unaffordiblity of tomato. He would immediately move to discuss about how he is working with Uni of Toronto to decide if tomato are fruit or vegeatable. The people around would be made to clap and cheer while the person who asked the question made to sit down

it is so funny that how much Indian media is talking about Canadian politics. i have only one question take a look how many episode this channel made on topic of Indian election polls and how many on Canadian polls. at the end of the day who ever gonna win they will not take their line back because its a country's line not a party line like India. and also take a note too US plays a big factor on the decisions of Canadian government.

I think Trudeau being out of power, won't bring anything significant out of Canada in terms of Khalistan issue. But, it would stop open endorsement of KHALISTAN politics in Canada. At, the very least there won't be attacks on Indian consulates in Canada.

It is too simplistic to say that most hated Democratic leader in world is likely to loose election. In all probability they will form coalition with left wing NDP. Leader of NDP Jagmeetsingh is lot more supportive of khalistani movement. Conservatives have to win majority on their own.

The way it works though then the conservatives might win almost every seat with those kind of percentages. That would be different if that was the percentage of seats held by each party. The conservatives just won this new seat by less than two percentage points.
