Your first sentence hit the nail on the head - Trudeau junior is indeed most disliked by Indians alike whether in India or residing abroad . His domestic politics frantic to remain in power will spell his doom . Am glad Toronto St.Pauls got liberals defeated …
@eloquent-code6 ай бұрын
Totally wrong analysis. Trudeau is loosing because People here vote based on how economy is doing unlike India where people vote for religion, caste etc. America is similar to India people who vote for conservative will vote for conservative not matter what happens. Canada is a normal democracy. There is no group in majority so a politician cannot come and say that group is the root of your problem. No politician will come and say well Muslim are the problem in Canada. Even the conservative does not do that here. Now they do have some conservative agendas and they have some support for those agendas but they will never win just with that. So they are targeting Trudeau for his incompetence in handling economy which has caused cost of living becoming a serious problem for an average Canadian. Will the new government will have any change toward India . Answer is Big no.(He will be Canadian Prime Minister not Indian Prime Minister. Canada is the center of World not India) Will the new government will change cost of living situation for Canada. Answer is No (All politician know they dont have any solution to the problem. But it is thier job to convince the masses that they have.) Short term We are going to see a lot of pain in Canada for next 5 to 10 years. But long term Canada will be a great place to be. Indian subcontinent will become unlivable in the next 25-50 years due to climate change but No such problem for Canada. Canada is a massive country with abundance of Natural resources most of which is not even discovered. It has a very solid educational system and educated masses. It can also use immigration to boost its population. It just need to immigrate the right kind of people.

Liberals are going to lose this time around. Fatigue being the primary reason more than anything. But do not accept anything from the Conservatives too. Basically India should provide a platform for Quebec separatists in my opinion. Fund them I guess. Encourage quebec and some Indian city links or something. Basically you cannot stop them from protesting, but you can increase cost of using the diaspora as vote banks. I have no idea why Canadians, particularly Sikhs, would want to implicate the foreign policy of a country that has given them shelter for perceived historical wrongs to be honest. I feel for Canada, opens doors and then these folks conspire to involve them in their bitter politics. Canada is meaninglessly being dragged in all this if you ask me.

Like, with NDP as popular as Trudeau's party, will it be the tail that wags the dog, irrespective of which party (Conservative or Liberal) comes to power. It would be wrong to call 2011 as a “Harper tsunami”, as Harper added only 23 seats and 2% to the Tories’ vote share over the last election in 2008. 2011 would be better characterised as an “NDP orange wave”, as the late Jack Layton took his party from a minor third party to the Official Opposition, on the back of an unprecedented performance in Quebec. Quebec used to be the bedrock of Liberal support nationwide, which saw fierce battles between the Liberals and the independence side (BQ/PQ/UN/CAQ). The NDP won 59 of the 75 seats on offer in Quebec, while making gains in BC and ON.

@@pardeeptandon well considering that trudaue is in power, i would argue that they are baised towards trudaeu, like if its 60 percent, then it is close to 80 percent anti trudeau in canada. Bro i have family in canada near vancover, all of them are voting conservative this time and they said beofre they would only vote liberal. Trudeau is exgtremely unpopular in cananda due to farmer protests, housing crisis, inflation etc, ik u like him because he supports rahul gandhi and pakistan but most candaians are educated and vote on who will make canada better, not who will make pakistan better

One thing that needs to be kept in mind is the rising anti-Indian sentiment in Canada due to mass immigration from India using the student visa program. Severe restrictions have already been implemented. The possibility of mass deportations and ethnic attacks cannot be ruled out as well. Another thing which many Indians do not understand is that Canada's policy wrt Khalistan will not change if Conservatives come to power. The Liberal-Conservative divide in Canada is largely on economic matters such as government control, regulations, taxation etc. They do not have any differences on things like foreign policy.

Very good.
@Uhhhtk6 ай бұрын
I don’t think you understand what foreign policy is. The real architect of anti-India sentiment is Jagmeet Singh. Students from India has nothing to do with anything, they are there with permission from Canadian government. 98% Canadians have absolutely nothing against India. The only reason for bitterness between two countries are Khalistani extremists. If India downgrades its relationship with Canada further, Canadians would like to get their country back from Sikhs. India doesn’t need Canada for anything and with its growing stature can ignore Canada.

JT has given voice to many marginalized communities e.g. indigenous, lgbtq, immigrants etc. its his bad luck that covid hit and economy did not recover soin enough, he stood with citizen,pr and even with TFW when it was needed the most. Financial help was given to everybody even non residents. All his haters got that help and took advantage. His government stood against the corporate lobby and put taxes on the rich. Unions have done major contract negotiations for the workers during his tenure. But unfortunately he has to deal with the after math of covid. Print use to non biased but just before elections it seems they have tilted towards Pro BJP agenda. Probably told to fall in line kinda.

I feel sorry for the Canadians and feel somewhat lucky as Indian because in India, Rahul Gandhi is still only in the opposition party. Canada have their own RaGa but as their PM. Both suffering from chronic cluelessness, politics of minority appeasement, nothing but a shady political heritage as political credentials, hated by their own constituencies, wouldn't mind getting in bed with terrorists for votes.. etc. etc., the similarities are endless. So this should also be a warning for Indians.

In a Democracy, since when has a single Bypoll loss pointed towards a political Debacle? Is SG political Bais showing here? Will SG call BJP's recent loss in Ayoidha pointing towards a train wreck?
@sunny39076 ай бұрын
Maybe the overall sentiment towards the Trudeau govt is hostile. Unlike that in India. Maybe there are other factors than the bypoll loss. Housing and cost of living crises being a larger issue.

The way it works though then the conservatives might win almost every seat with those kind of percentages. That would be different if that was the percentage of seats held by each party. The conservatives just won this new seat by less than two percentage points.

I think Trudeau being out of power, won't bring anything significant out of Canada in terms of Khalistan issue. But, it would stop open endorsement of KHALISTAN politics in Canada. At, the very least there won't be attacks on Indian consulates in Canada.

Sir! Prime minister of Canada and his party which holds over 50 % of popular votes in Canada. A by-election election held in Toronto where the person won received only 14600 votes and his majority is only 600 votes. 84 candidates contested in this election and therefor, the voters were panic and may not trace their correct choice as because of too many candidates. This riding was represented by one liberal member for more 29 years. May be voters wanted a new face ?
@tonysopranosduck4166 ай бұрын
You are very wrong on your data. Justin Trudeau won a majority only in his first election, w015. The last 2 elections Trudeau has lost the popular vote and only won a minority, which is why he needed the coalition with the NDP to keep him in power, get his bills and policies passed. Conservatives, despite loosing the last 2 elections, actually won the popular vote.

It is too simplistic to say that most hated Democratic leader in world is likely to loose election. In all probability they will form coalition with left wing NDP. Leader of NDP Jagmeetsingh is lot more supportive of khalistani movement. Conservatives have to win majority on their own.
