The bible is not a series of disconnected stories
It is a single narrative in which every story, every character points beyond itself to one who is greater.
The story of Adam and Eve is not just about the first man and woman... there is a true and better Adam who passed the test in the garden and whose obedience is ascribed to us.
There is a true and better Abel who, though innocently slain, has blood that cries out, not for our condemnation, but for our acquittal.
There is a true and better Abraham who answered the call of God to leave all the comfortable and familiar and go out into the void to create a new people of God.
There is a true and better Isaac, the son of laughter, of grace, who was not just offered up by his father on the mount but was truly sacrificed for us all.
There is a true and better Jacob who wrestled and took the blow of justice we deserved, so we, like Jacob, only receive the wounds of grace that wake us up and discipline us.
There is a true and better Joseph who, at the right hand of the king, forgives those who betrayed and sold him and uses his new power to save them.
There is a true and better Moses who stands in the gap between the people and the Lord and who mediates a new covenant.
There is a true and better Rock of Moses who, struck with the rod of God’s justice, now gives us water in the desert.
There is a true and better Job, the truly innocent sufferer, who then intercedes for and saves his foolish friends.
There is a true and better David whose victory becomes his people’s victory, though they never lifted a stone to accomplish it themselves.
There is a true and better Esther who didn’t just risk losing an earthly palace but lost the ultimate heavenly one, who didn’t just risk his life, but gave his life to save his people.
There is a true and better Jonah who was cast out into the storm so that we could be brought in.
There is a true and better Passover Lamb, innocent, perfect, helpless, slain so the angel of death will pass over us. He’s the true temple, the true prophet, the true priest, the true king, the true sacrifice, the true lamb, the true light, and the true bread.
The bible is not a series of disconnected stories.
It is a single narrative that points to one person... Jesus.

I feel like one of the greatest privileges of being a Christian is now being able to see God everywhere and it’s especially beautiful to see Him in the Bible where everything leads to, speaks to and is a shadow of the great love of God- the Bible is about God, the Lord Jesus and the glory of the One true God - this is beautiful- thank you ♥️

O.O It had me at "passed the test in the Garden"- I almost choked on my lunch.

I remember watching this video approx 10 years ago. It left me speechless. It was then that I have just finished the OT for the first time. And upon watching this video, I got overwhelmed by the glory of Christ that it left my heart feeling very stirred. My heart kept stirring throughout the day, even after I got home from work and had my shower and dinner. At that point, I knew I had to enter into the room to sit in His presence. I didn’t know what to say as I was feeling very overwhelmed, and was in awe by the very person of Jesus shown throughout the OT that I started to say these words, “Lord Jesus, show me Your face please. I want to see You”. That very same night as I fell asleep, I saw a man in a white robe, standing in front of a walkway that was encircled by thorns. Then the man turned around, and I saw His face for the first time as the blinding light on His face slowly disappeared to reveal His face. My immediate thought when I saw His face was “Who was this?” It took me a split second to realise it was Jesus because He was unlike all the imagery that media painted Him out to be. And He was smiling so brightly at me. Who am I to deserve such a smile from Him? What have I done that made me deserve a smile like this from Him? It was amazing. That night changed my life forever !

I remember watching this video early in the morning 9 years ago and it forever changed my life. It was like veil was taken away from my eyes and finally seeing the light for the first time ever. My heart is still burning after all those years because of Christ revealing His fingerprints all over the record. Truly a blessing to those who watches this video and may God shine the light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Thank you again and again.

This is utterly incredible, I am just going through the timelines in my own mind and realising this must mean Jesus did it all the other way around: For Noah went into the Ark and was safe from the Judgement, but Christ sends us all into the Ark and stands to be Judged :'( So powerful! The first time I saw this video at church, I just about cried. My Pastor is going through your series in our small group at Cros Church. I'm the media guy. I get to flip the slides and turn on the mics. It's been a real blessing. God has shown me reflections of Christ, of grace, of His walk with people all throughout the Old Testament. I had never seen it before, and because I didn't understand the Old Testament, my walk lacked the depth it could have had. Thank you for making this. PS.
