I love Lafayette in this scene, but I also love Arlene. She goes out of her way to try not to offend people because she's genuinely a sweet character. Even the way she says "oohhh Fuuudge!" to avoid cursing seems almost like she didn't even want to say that word THAT way. Loved this entire series until the last couple seasons.

I absolutely loved him in this show! He played Lafayette perfectly. I honestly don't think it could've been done any better by anyone else. I was sad to learn recently he passed. 😢❤ I know he has found everlasting peace🕊️. I also just started a rewatch of True Blood in his honor. I'm already on season 3 EP. 9 Man, this was such a good show! Hard to believe it came out ... 15yrs ago! Damn time flies.

I'm here because I'm re reading the series and it reminded me that Lafayette in the books didn't make it past book 1 and I'm pretty sure that because of scenes like this, he became a fan favorite and therefore solidified his spot as a permanent character in the show. It's one of the few things I'm glad they changed from the books. I wish Charlaine Harris would have had him like this in the books.

If I were trying out for a part as an actor or actress and I had to do a monolog I would definitely choose Lafayette's dialect in this scene!!!!
