@@anmoldani6258 The whole point of the movie is that Arthur wasn't born a psychopath. He was mentally ill, but harmless. But when the world does nothing but hurt a man for as long as he can remember, how can he be expected to do anything but want to hurt it back? The movie brought a lot of parallels to Frankenstein for me. The Creature wasn't a threat until his environment convinced him that the only way he could assert any sort of control over his surroundings was to lash out and hurt others just like he had been hurt, much like Arthur himself. Just for the record, the three Wayne employees he killed WERE awful pieces of shit. Murray may not have deserved a full on execution, but he wasn't a nice guy either. Joker's not wrong when he says people are awful, but that's partly because he had the misfortune of being surrounded by shitty people, Gary and Arthur's neighbor being the exceptions.

@A Frustrated Gamer I re-created this exact scene with myself in place of the Joker. I actually digitally inserted myself into the scene, so it looks like Robert DeNiro is talking to ME and I am talking to him! It took a very long time to make the video and I don't even know if many people will watch it, but I thought someone might like to see. This is easily one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. There's probably little chance that Hollywood will acknowledge this publicly, and give him his due at the Oscars. Isn't it strange that the media doesn't want a film to be popular that encourages anarchy against the elite. I'm not an anarchist at all, and was actually once law enforcement, but I can appreciate the sentiment of it. How can all the press be so silent on this brilliant movie that has made over a billion dollars?

@Ruben O. I was saying that the press and Hollywood have shunned Joker and left it alone at best. That's rather strange for such a well-acted, written, and directed film that has grossed a billion dollars. I mentioned anarchy, but in more of an anti-elitist role. People against the rich. I think that's about as overtly political as it gets...though Wayne does run for office, doesn't he... I actually for got that until you brought up politics. 😅

What the joker is highlighting the breakdown of the traditional values in the west. The joker is as creation of the hedonistic selfish culture that is overtaking the west. All throughout the movie Arthur is failed again and again, hoodlums beat him up, thugs in suits do so as well, government shuts down his treatment and he has no family or support system to turn to. All through the movie no one helps him, people on the street walk by as he is beaten, his "friend" at work gets him fired because he is "wierd", and his family situation is all kinds of mess up................ the end might have been avoided if anyone or thing had actually provided support, instead they do nothing and eventually Arthur snaps completely.

Oh my gosh! “Society society society”. Society didn’t do shit. People get beat up, abused all the time. Not everyone turns into a sociopathic killer. He knows the difference between right and wrong but he doesn’t care. This movie was for children who haven’t seen the real world and are amazed at this little glimpse of the “other side”. It’s sad so many applause the movie. His acting was great though 👍🏽

@@Em-os1yz "Its so sad so many applause the movie". I'm pretty sure you're the child if you cannot understand that this is art, not a documentary. Its a fictional film with hidden meanings and messages hence we were engaging in complex analyses of the themes, the symbolization of the character's body movement, etc. You're not supposed to interpret all of that as "This movie is bad because it tells us to put clown makeup on and kill everyone". Lol.

@ musikkforeva You said I was spamming in all the comments but here you are... replying to me...again. My thoughts on this movie won’t change. It’s cool you like it enough to defend it in a KZbin comment section... twice. I understand the meaning, really I do. I just don’t like how it’s a cliche movie. There have been at LEAST 3 (that I know of) like it in the past half a year. (only with different characters, same story though). Your thoughts on this movie won’t change either, and I respect that. It’s not like I hate the whole thing. Just the cringe parts... which is actually a lot for me. That’s how my brain works, I apologize. Have a nice day.

@@kevinjung4797 Maybe I'm just old, but the Joker has always been a crook/criminal with a flair for theatrics. The Heath Leadger and Joaquin Phoenix characters are very far from the Jack Nicholson Joker that lends itself much more to the comics. Not that they are bad, they are just atypical portrayals.

Nothing makes you look better in the public eye than looking tough against criminals. especially since you'd have security guards to take the guy away if he started attacking you, which is more publicity as you'd be able to talk about how you got attacked on T.V. his only mistake was having too much confidence in his clearly inept guards. If Author didn't have the gun then this would have gone much differently. IE him getting taken away.
