In all honesty, the new Catalyst 9X series is by far superior to the Hzrdus line period. Until they implement the new improvements to the boot of Hzrdus that they did with the Catalyst, you are taking a risk using the Hzrdus skates with the durability issues. The Catalyst 7x4 skate has the same exact boot as the 9x4 minus the DLC steel and Genetx Insole and some different graphics on the boot itself. So the new Catalyst 7x4 is pretty much the same as the Hzdurus 9X skate with a slightly less stiffer boot but with all of the boot upgrades that helps with durability. I personally own the 9x4 player skate and it’s by far the best skate I have ever worn, and I’m pretty confident the 7x4 would feel the same.

@@DD-jx9jd I own the 9x4 and they def are not the same. The tongue is 100x better and the boot along with the toe cap is by far better. I currently came from the Cat9’s. I’m pretty sure since I skate in the San average of 8 times a week I’d know a little bit. The Hzdurus skates don’t have the added carbon reinforcement and added materials in the bottom to help with the rivets. These aren’t much less stiff than the hazdrus skates. I’d say 5% the most.

@@DD-jx9jd the fit is no different than a fit system that Bauer uses except for Regular and Wide. So of course the fit system doesn’t change. All of their skates use the same fit system. But the Hzdurus skate line uses the same shell tech as the older Cat9 minus the stiffness rating. The new Cat9/7/5x uses a different material process for better durability.
