Thank you Paul. I only discovered it by chance from a mention in a railway book in Trowbridge Library. A friend is researching her family tree. Emily died in 1922 in Trowbridge from cancer. Rather a sad family history it seems.

Hi Roland, hope you are all well. I stumbled on this by chance and watched your excellent video. I knew the story, but decided to check Emily out on Ancestry. Emily Maria Lister was born in January or early February 1861 in Ystradgynlais, Breconshire, to Matthew Lister, an accountant, and his wife Lucy. Soon after she was born the family moved moved to Madeley in Shropshire, where they still lived in 1871, although her father had died in 1866. In 1881 she was teaching and living with her mother in Birmingham, in 1891 living as a headmistress in Rowde, in 1901 in Coventry and in 1911 at (believe it or not) 14 Downhayes Road, Trowbridge, where she sadly died on 30th September 1912 aged only 51 (perhaps from the aftereffects?). She is buried in Trowbridge Cemetery and left her estate of 128 pounds/7s/5d to one Sarah Harland, spinster. All the best, Mark
