My brother's ex-wife went over to his house and was banging on the door wanting to see their son even though it was his weekend to have custody. Even though she had been told by the court and the police she could not go to my brother's house when he had custody of their son. She kept beating until my brother called the police. After the police and fire department showed up she said she had cut her foot or something of the sort. A few days later the police show up to arrest my brother for assault. She went home after banging on the door that day and applied makeup to her face to look as if she had been in a fight with Rocky Balboa, yeah it looked that bad. She took pictures and showed them to the police and that's why they arrested my brother. She also had a digital audio recorder and recorded her beating on the door and then screamed for my brother to stop beating her. On the recording, it sounded terrible like she was really being beaten. My brother never touched her and never opened the door. When it went to court she got on the stand and cried and told the courtroom what took place. When it was my brother's turn he wheeled in a 65-inch flatscreen tv with a DVD player. What she didn't know was that my brother had installed cameras to record every aspect of his property due to vandalism on his truck. Well, the cameras captured everything that day, her beating on the door and screaming for him to stop beating her and her screaming for help all while her current husband was standing at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the front door and watching everything. And the video clearly showed that my brother never opened the door, never went outside, and never hit her. The case was dismissed and I think she got charged with filing a false report to the police. IF not for the camera and the video evidence my brother very well might have gone to jail.

40 yrs old from Toronto. I've had 2 dogs from pups (1 Labrador & 1 Husky/Rottweiler mix) and have never had cats. But I've always loved cats. I grew up with all the neighborhood cats always coming to me when I was outside. I would always spend time with them in the garden/on the streets, sit with them and they would usually come into my lap. I always thought of them as wonderful and super cute. So interesting, so independent, and must be so ultra easy to take care of. Yes, cats are like cuddly easy children, fur-babies. I think the reason I never got any as an adult is because I'm a bit OCD with household cleanliness and they climb on everything like the top of couches and on bed pillows where you rest your head on etc. And their feet are always dirty and digging in the litter box etc. Also they usually have bum crusts that always come in contact with fabric surfaces. Aside from that I love cats and always will.

Once it was just the criminals who had contempt for the ordinary, law-abiding citizens. Then, about 30-40 years ago we saw the Judiciary move to a position on most crime, where they exhibited compassion for the criminal; hostility toward the property owner victims, and a complete lack of tolerance for the victim who fights back and injures his attacker. Today, even the Police force operates with an indifferent attitude toward property crime, an disinclination to tackle crime in ethnic communities, and a preference for prioritising "though crimes" (race, gender)

Sure he should've stopped to make sure the kid was OK but 90% of this is on the parents. Here's a few ideas I recommend as a police officer to citizens that ask my advice about home security on a tight income (and unfortunately usually after a break-in). If you want to protect your property, but just don't have the money to purchase and install these state of the art surveillance cameras you can also buy light bulb cameras ($50 a piece on Amazon w/ 1080p) that just plug into a regular socket and use your home's WiFi (assuming you have it) or if you're looking for an even cheaper option then you can even look into buying fake decoy cameras on Amazon that attach with just double sided tape and even blink using a few AA or AAA batteries (most range from about $12-20 for a pack of 4). You can also use window/door alarms (GE makes them among other companies) that come in two pieces. Apply 1 piece to one side of the window/door and apply the 2nd piece parallel from the plain break in the window/door. When the plain breaks by opening a window/door they make a loud ringing sound that can either alert a person at home, neighbor, or just plain scare the burglar who thinks they might actually be hooked into a real alarm system....of course they are not though. They are essentially loud noise makers (Amazon sells them for about $19 for a pack of 4). These work by magnets and have a tolerance between the two magnetics that when exceeds say for example a 1/2 inch sounds off. Most crimes are opportunistic crimes, so if a criminal isn't specifically targeting your home and sees the decoys there's a good chance they'll just move on to the next easier target.

@@jasminflower3814 : no my dear, this not good advise, specially coming from a "cop" who doesn't gives his/her real name. The kid on the bike who hit the little girl made so many mistakes. First off, if you are forced on the sidewalk, you are already breaking the law, it's narrow and people may step out of a residence. Go slow and get off as quickly as is safe. Next, he should have called police and reported the accident and made himself available by not leaving the scene. Accept the ticket and responsibility and it would never have gone so public. "I just walked away". Well, there you have it. Then the dad of the boy pipes up and says no one has a right to post a video to the internet and compares that to inviting a film crew into his private residence and them having to have his permission. No, dumb jerk, it's not the same thing. The call went out to identify the bicyclist who vanished. Did he even think to come back and even apologize? Nope. Instead he hides out and hopes it all goes away. Then he points out that he fell off his bike after striking the child. Oh, so he's a victim also! Poor boy, right?

She absolutely adored it but when it started failing, I thought that perhaps it might do better in the garden. So I planted it where she could see it from her window and it began thriving. So much so that some woman fell in love with it and wanted it and her boyfriend brazenly got into our yard and dug it up for her. I'd heard some noises and caught him in the act but no amount of shouting got him to stop. As I called the police, he'd taken the rose and started walking away. I wanted to go down but then considered it hardly worth it since it was a cheapish plant I'd gotten from the local nursery but seriously, WTF? Who steals a cheap miniature rose from someone's garden in broad daylight? Is $5 really too much for this guy to spend on a plant for his girl?

Just remember people who feel that CCTV is invading your privacy then stay inside your home. Somebody else's CCTV could catch someone damaging you or your property. It could be the difference between catching a criminal and you having to keep paying for property damage.

"It's the day and age we live in"... says the 30 year old. I've got a news flash for you- People have been stealing since there have been people. It's a common human trait. A common animal trait. I HATE when people try to act like theft and bad actions are some modern day phenomenon that never happened in previous years.

Also she's a moron for leaving her car running and the door open and THEN tried to attack the thief? I feel like she kinda set herself up to be robbed and hit in the head. I mean she got cameras because cars were being stolen in her neighborhood? 🤔🙄🤭
