This one comes a little closer to me. My friend Linda, her husband, they had 1 child at that time and 2 labradors moved to Wichita when this was going on. Linda's husband worked the night shift, Linda worked days so someone was always home for the baby and not have the expense of childcare. The weather was nice, Linda liked the windows open for fresh air. Linda started noticing her labs were behaving differently, nervous, going from window to window, looking for something. But she didn't think much of it at the time. Until the night her dogs were barking wildly, she ran into the room and a man had his face pushed up into the screen looking inside. She called the police, within minutes there were helicopters with spotlights lighting the neighborhood with many police officers and cars on the ground. They advised her to keep her windows closed and porch light on. She did that then one night the porch light went out. She looked out the light bulb had been removed. He was stalking her and he had to know her husband worked nights and she was home alone with the baby and dogs at night. That was it, her husband left his job, and they moved home. She was lucky. I have watched documentaries about BTK, read books. I get scared for Linda and her family. But they got out, got away. They are still together and now have 3 children. But it makes my blood run cold to think about it. Good video. Thank you.

Scott, I have just come across your channel with your John Wayne Gacey vlog being recommended. Coming from South Africa, we get to see documentaries about serial killers but to me they are all so generic and sterile, your vlog is so refreshing because by you going to and showing locations I actually get a sense of the area as well as a feeling of mood in your filming. Thank you for your work and the respect you show towards the victims. May your channet go from strength to strength, much respect. Btw, literally the quickest subscription I've ever made on KZbin.

For 25+ years 90% of what I watch and read is true crime. Rader is still the most fascinating for me to this day. Scott you did an EXCELLENT job again. One of FAVORITE things you do are the before and after pics and/or the side by side pics in your videos. I often pause to study them closer. I'm still new to your channel, however, I'm enjoying it immensely. Thank you Scott. 👍

Hi Scott! I'm from/live in Wichita. I have been in the funeral profession for 36 years. I remember seeing each case on the news while growing up. Lived just a mile from his last killing on West 13th. St. across from Indian Hills Shopping Center, this after I had been in the business. Remember all the police presence that day. I have a good cigar friend that was a prison guard at the El Dorado Super Max Prison when authorities brought Rader in, initially, to begin serving his life sentences. He said that Rader, certainly didn't fit the profile of serial killer. Meek of a man. *Side Note...after Rader was indicted and sentenced, his wife moved from the home in Park City. A local strip club owner (Michelle's Beach House-Derby, Kansas) bid to purchase the house/property. The City of Park City denied the purchase for concerns of constant traffic of people to view the site where he had resided for years. It was bulldozed by the city. Interesting...he buried much of his "trophies" from the murders, in both, his backyard as well as locked it up in a storage unit on the back property not permitting anyone, including family near the area. This was all confiscated by authorities after his arrest. You can KZbin his in depth description of the murders to the court/judge. Absolutely, sick! Enjoy you, and Adam the Woo, videos!😎

Tough subject matter and I hope the victims are resting peacefully. Once again, thank you Todd

@@SCOTTONTAPE Hi, was wondering if you'd know where we can view his project list? I lived in Wichita & dated a guy that lived about 4 houses to the east of him in park city. I'm almost 100% sure he was going to kill my exes mom & after that he stalked me at work while I was dating someone else. Both of the guys I dated were tall fit & one might call bad boys that would ( actually did) fight anyone at the drop of a hat. Radar was hanging out at the gas station I worked at acting like he was my bosses friend & telling my boss he was my friend. My boss even got on me for him being there hanging out, I said I was just being nice because I thought he was your friend & he's a customer. She said oh wow I have no idea who he is I thought he was your friend & she apologized for getting on me. Shortly after that Radar was there when my bf at the time showed up to bring me lunch. The bf was 6'2 205 & asked Radar in an I'm gonna beat your a$$ intimidating way if he could help him with something as my bf could tell Radar was looking at me like a piece of meat & it upset him. I'm pretty sure my bf showing up that day being the jealous type probably saved my life. The majority of the time at work I'd be alone, only 5'1 no weapons at work, would've been an easy target. Radar also showed up at a previous bf's house that lived about 4 houses to the east of him in park city. Radar said he was there to remind his mom to pay a citation for her dogs that he'd given her earlier that day. I was sitting on her couch as she answered the door & he worked his way into her living room. He then asked if there were more people home. He knew the 3 of us were there but he wanted to know if more adults were home. Idk why but she lied to him about more people being home. I thought it was odd that she lied because I'd just asked her if her daughter was home & she said no. I still to this day don't know why she lied to him. I remember thinking to myself why's she lying to him when she just told me her daughter wasn't home, or is she lying to me. Thinking ok don't trust the new bf's mom. But I now think she sensed he was creepy & had no business reminding her to pay a ticket, it's not normal for animal control to just stop by to remind you to pay a ticket so she lied & led him to believe he'd have more people to contend with if he wanted to pull some crap. I didn't know at the time that they'd had an earlier confrontation regarding the dogs. I know he was there to kill her that evening as she'd severely cussed him over the tickets that morning & I mean she had a vocabulary that would make a drunken sailor sound like a boy scout. I know she ripped into his ego. I 'd also had a friend that lived a couple of doors down from the Oteros on Edgemoor . My friend moved after leaning of that happening because they were so scared. I can't help but wonder what that list entails. I'd really like to view it list but I can't seem to find it. Bits & pieces have been splashed on TV but parts are blocked out.

Scott, first off, I always enjoy your videos. I can tell the emotions were running high on this one. I read a book that went into detail about Rader's murders, and my emotions were all over the place while reading it - from anger to total sadness, when thinking about what his victims went through. He was and is a sick and demented man. I feel terrible for his victims, their family, and his family as well. There were so many more victims in this case, other than the ones he murdered. Anyway, thanks for the great video. - Sam

Scott yesterday I was on my way to Hutchinson Kansas. Stopped at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast just off the highway in Park City Kansas. Looked on Google Maps and to my surprise his home was 1 block away. Drove up his street noting Marine Hedge's home where she was murdered and 7 houses up was the empty lot where BTK's house once stood. Gave me the creeps to say the least. Your video on this horrific crime is so respectful and well done. Keep up the good work.

BTK was in our lifetime and we all thought he died till he reappeared when I was in high school. I've been searching for his childhood home where I currently live in Pittsburg, Kansas. I have no luck finding the address. I originally became interested in serial killers when I had the interest in why they want to commit to such grizzly behavior. Plus BTK was close to home at the time when I was younger and it became an interest of mine. My thoughts go out to every victim of these evil people. Thanx for your your videos. Thank you, Scott, for doing a BTK video. A couple of times, you made me laugh. I was a 18 year old girl living in my first duplex in Nancy Fox's neighborhood. Very scary times. The whole city lived in fear... You should also check into the Carr brothers, aka the Wichita Massacre story. What these 2 brothers did was horrific. Just like Dennis, they were animals. They are currently living with BTK in the El Dorado Correction facility, awaiting execution.

The Carr brothers have HIV. They are not being medicated. They have been very very sick on and off. Not much longer on this earth. They got HIV in prison. They were being passed around.

Yea, this hits me a little harder than some of the other serial killer stories. I've watched the complete video of his confession. So cold , and just a sorry loser like you said. I was stationed in Kansas for a couple of years . I still own a house in Abilene. I've visited Wichita 2 or 3 times. Great place. I interviewed for a job there when I got out of the Army. But every time I was there . My mind always went to , this is where the BTK stuff happened. And I also know the Billy the Kid lived in Wichita briefly as a child . So I am just going to consider BTK to mean Billy The Kid , and the other is just a loser .

Currently reading Unholy Messenger about BTK and remembered your video. Appreciate your video as having a better visual picture in my mind gives me better insight into what was going through his mind. Also to see just how quiet and small town Wichita really is. Just doesn’t seem like madness would dwell in a small Midwestern city but it did/does. Sadly crimes like these can happen in any community no matter how small, quiet or normal it may seem. Let’s do what we can to keep each other safe

I just finished Dr. Ramsland book "Confession of a serial killer". Very very scary guy. You never know who your neighbor is. Also Raders wife caught him a couple of times while he was in the act of self-bondage and wearing women's clothes in his home. Thanks for your well-done video... In your travels come to South Florida and check out The Devil's Tree and the case of Gerard Schaefer. IMO one of the worst serial killers of all time.

In 1994 - 1995, I lived in Wichita, and a lot of women I knew would not go out alone at night, like after a class or meeting just to walk to the parking lot. I thought they were just extra careful. It was like the whole city was on alert. Then years later when BLT (haha) was caught, I knew why. I called people I knew that still lived there and told them I had always wondered why they seemed so scared or overly precautious, and they told me yes, it had been because of BLT (Butt Licking Turd!). It was messed up that the whole city had to live in terror for all those years, knowing he had never been caught and could still be around. I felt creeped out that I had lived only about 10 minutes from where he lived. Cool video. Thanks

BTK didn't receive the death penalty due to the fact that all the murders he was convicted of took place prior to Kansas instituting the death penalty. Wichita Police tried to connect him to other unsolved murders that took place after the state instituted it but were unable to.
