I knew those Jokers couldn't possibly be fixing cars on that show we shall not name. Typical television drama with a semi fake background. The cameras focus on them arguing and magically the car is ready for paint or getting interior installed. Body restoration is not a joke. It's seriously time consuming. I watched the show twice and couldn't stand it anymore. Keep up with the real amazing act of bringing cars back from the boneyard. Your crew is unbelievable.

I'm currently helping my nephew on his total restoration of a 1970 Challenger...as we go, I am comparing AMD sheetmetal to factory and it is as close if not exactly as the factory metal, thickness, contour, the only issue would be some stamping flaws on quarters but nothing a little filler and primer can't fix. If wasn't for AMD I don't think this project would be doable
@jamesbehrick9588

Just an observation: Many say how not much of the car is left, not a lot of originality. As time goes on and these cars become rarer and rarer, if someone really wants one of these cars, you sometimes have no choice in replacing a lot of the sheetmetal. I am doing this with a 70 Roadrunner. The important point is, one more classic is on the road again thanks to companies like AMD and other resto parts suppliers.

‘71 Cuda’, the high water mark for American Muscle in terms of styling, form, function, and all-around fire-breathing performance. I missed the cutoff and ended up with a ‘72 with the 340, which still was a wonderful car albeit not quite a performer to the level of the beautiful ‘71. I wouldn’t change a thing though. I loved my ‘72 and cherish the memories of every mile in it. Without any doubt, it was and will always remain, the best looking muscle car.

If you're like me, I have a big dream with little money, but have some fabrication skills. Parts are available to repair or restore these cars, and if you have that desire to own a Cuda, Challenger, Charger, etc... Then pick up a mig welder, a grinder, drill, clamps, hand tools, and make it happen. My motto is, don't be afraid to try anything that will make your dream a reality. Great video guys.

Considering the fact that most of the body parts are available, I wish someone would produce completed unibodies of these cars that could be used with a rotted car's mechanicals. There are many thousands of rotted hulks still out there that are beyond my capability to restore, that I could do if all I had to do was bolt it together. There are also a lot of four door b-bodies that could be donors for two door bodies.

Awesome work but i don't know how you can stand there with a straight face and tell everyone this is not a rebody... It doesn't matter if some of the parts are good used or AMD panels once you replace a certain percentage of the panels it's a rebody! The only parts of that car that are original to that car are the a pillars aka, hinge pillars, outer rockers, door jambs, and inner roof rails. The doors are used, the rear rails are used the rest is AMD. You replaced the upper cowl panel and upper radiator support, which has the vin numbers stamped in them with an AMD cowl panel and radiator support and then you cut the vin out of the original panels and welded them to the AMD panels, THAT IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF A REBODY! You guys do awesome work but don't tell lies, It is what it is and you should call it what it is A REBODY! Personally i have no issues with a rebody. In my opinion if a car body went down the Chrysler assembly line on or near the same time as the car its a donor for that makes it more original that a car restored with half its parts made in Taiwan.

@bobroberts2371

From what I see: Roof inner structure / outer rockers with door posts / rear package tray / maybe part of the rear frame rails / torsion bar mounts. They should have sent this car _before chopping the front and rear off_ to the channel Arthur Tussic ( in Lithuania ). . . . . At some point the work done to this " car " becomes more of moving the above parts to another car and less of rebuilding the original. I'd say changing more than 50% of the cars bare body shell in one shot makes it no longer the came car. RE: If 50% of the front shell was replaced and car was a complete driving unit then it was crashed again and the rear 50% was changed, it is still the same car. Change 90% of the body shell parts in one shot makes it a minimal part reuse VIN swap. . . . Still I have no issue with the quality of the work.

@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 having some experience with chineseium stamped reproduction parts, I will say the, "time and attention" part of your comments is very true! The stampings are less than a good fit, take a long time and effort to manipulate, cut, pull, fix, fiddle with, rework etc to make work to any reasonable level of fit and finish. I think that's the most likely reason the build didn't include fitment video. Lots of cursing, fighting, pounding etc is required. We built a new house like that once. We couldn't get a permit to knock it down and rebuild, so we got a permit to remodel. We cut the left part of the house off (from the central positioned front door). We then got a permit to remodel the right side. In the end, only the front door frame remained. I'm not exaggerating! The Vin plate may be the only part of this car that remains as original.

I don't buy it...you are NOT RE-building an old car...you are BUILDING a new car. Just because you used a couple of peaces of tin from what was left of the old shell does not qualify it to be an "original" 71 'cuda. NFW...far from it. You ARE just stealing the VIN's of an original and stamping that number on to a clone car. Don't forget to stamp the radiator core and trunk panel too. Even you said building from the ground up in the video!!! That tells me you start with nothing and build a car. Yeah sure a brand new '71 cuda right of the assembly line 45 years after the fact....LIAR

Ok you say its a famous car then don't say shit about why its famous ! Why in the hell would you restore a car in that horrible condition ? When you make a statement how about following through and finish the fucking story ! Very disappointing
