I have a family member who’s sick and who maybe close to passing. I’m here to help them as I love them dearly. It’s hard and stressful but I’m committed all the way to help and be here for them no matter what. They’re resting now so I’m taking a break and listening to your stories. I absolutely love the vibe of the different music you’ve chosen and I really appreciate being able to lose myself in your narration. The odd music creates a really unique ambiance that helps me become immersed in the tales and gives me a much needed break from my thoughts and situation. Thank you. I already feel like I can return with hope and a fresh perspective to help me help my loved family and friend. ❤️🩹

*BE AWARE OF WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND YOU!* This is what my dad told me every time I left the house growing up, and it will always be the BEST advice I've ever gotten. Also, if someone is making you uncomfortable in public, staring or following you, don't feel like you need to be polite! It's absolutely fine to be weird and rude, yell, attract attention, cause a big scene, or ask for help! Make yourself an undesirable victim!

Stories with women digging around in their purses for keys: get the keys in your hand while you are still in a safe area. Coming home, get your keys while in your car or on the bus. Walking out to the car, get your keys while you are still inside the mall or the store.
@MalevolentMischief Жыл бұрын
Very very solid advice here. Great call.
@Brooklyntrash8 ай бұрын
Agree completely, Heidi Sue. My keys are always clipped to one of the belt loops on my pants, so I always know exactly where they are and they’re in my hand in a second. I usually leave my apartment before dawn, and have a ten-minute walk to the subway; although my neighborhood is safe (relatively speaking), those keys are always in my hand during that walk, with the ends poking out between my fingers. Keys should always be handy so you can have immediate access to your car or house door, plus they make a very handy weapon in a pinch.

The first story cause my to remember something that happened when I was 8 or so. There was a B run movie theater close to my home. My brother and I spent a lot of out summer there because 1. It was 25¢ 2. It had AC and home did not. This was on the late 70's. The rules were I stayed with my older brother and NEVER used the bathroom. This last point was really driven home. Stranger danger at its best. I was terrified of going near the restroom. My brother was with his friends and as usual I was the tag along. The movie was the blob lol. Anyway I suddenly really had to use the bathroom. My brother told me to go. I was shocked and told him there was no way. He told me to go home I knew I would not get back in and didn't want to miss anything. I begged my brother to go with me and he refused. Finally he felt bad for me and walked me to the ladies room. I slowly went in and started sobbing as the door closed the huge scary lady who ran the theater was washing her hands and this made me just break down. She took the time to ask me what was wrong and I blurted it all out. I had to pee and my mom told me it was dangerous to use the restroom. Lol that mean big land took my hand and told me she would stand right in the room outside my stall door. I lived thru it and she gave my brother and I free popcorn! That theater is long gone and I expect that woman is too. I'll have to thank my brother today.
@MalevolentMischief Жыл бұрын
Wow. That lady was the real MVP there. Your mom did the right thing by putting the fear into you…maybe she drilled it a little too tough if it was that level of trauma inducing to a child. Never know what will stick with a kid, love how you still remember the movie that was playing while all this was unfolding. Hope your fear of public restrooms is not as impactful here and now.
