Perfect thanks! I follow you on instagram because I used to have a mustang, but now have a jaguar XFR with the same 5.0 supercharged. The stock setup is a dual in/out resonator with perforated pipes that acts like a balance pipe and I always wondered what a proper H would sound like. Everyone puts X pipes on the jags but the smooth out the sound so much that it becomes very quiet and loses the V8 rumble.
@Kordare2 жыл бұрын
Awesome, yeah I really like the sound that resulted from the h-pipe.
@FiveBoroNative2 жыл бұрын
I liked it both ways, but the H-pipe does what it was supposed to do and you said there was too much drone without it. I'm starting to question my choice to install an X-pipe. I also installed resonators on my car and I am definitely removing them to assess the difference. Thanks for this video.

Good luck with yours!

I had an X pipe on my car when I bought it, swapped for an H now and like you I’ve added resonators and regret the resonators! But the H definitely sounds meaner, X is more race car vibe

@@Robdutton91 sometimes you try to have a "civilized" sound, but the resonators just make it sound muddy.

@@Kordare to me an h-pipe or no crossover always sounds better than an x-pipe. No crossover and glasspacks work best imo, when talking strictly about sound. H-pipe with glasspacks have the best low down performance, while still having that nice V8 rumble. Straight pipe without glasspacks and with x-pipe sound too high pitched and tinny, for my taste.
@Kordare2 жыл бұрын
@@muaythai193 for this setup the no crossover sounded way more high pitched and droany. The h-pipe gave a much deeper V8 sound and way less droan.
@muaythai1932 жыл бұрын
@@Kordare I‘m telling you man, try no crossover with glasspacks. They turn that high pitch into lovely deep rumble. The h-pipe sounds best when comoletely straight piped, true, and gives the best mix between sound and performance imo, but does still merge the exhaust pulses when stepping on it, which the no crossover setup doesn’t. H-pipe sounds better with glasspacks as well btw, at least to me. Glasspacks do exactly that, filter out the high pitch sounds from the outside and leave the deep rumble from the inside. (Center and outer areas inside the pipes I mean of course, as the high pitch soundwaves are always further away from the center, they get swallowed by the glasspacks.)

Crossovers should be as close to headers or manifolds as possible. Sounds great but would get even smoother the closer the crossover is. And H-pipes are better for low-end torque and X-pipes are better for high-end horsepower.
