top quality build. It makes my shed look like popsicle sticks. One point, though, Where your pressure treated ramps touch the ground, they Will rot. Maybe 15 or so years. While they're clean, pull off and treat with good deck stain, or other wood sealer, on all sides. then seal/paint/cover. Your grandkids will thank you.

Thanks! I did seal the top side but yeah I'm not too worried about it, I'll just replace it when needed.

Great build right here. As a DIY enthusiast, this build right here is honestly looking like what I want to build for me in Florida. I'm wondering what program you used to create the design like that? I feel like doing this prior to building the shed will provide insight on material to use, which in turn, will help minimizing trips to the lumber store and better cost analysis. Honestly, I might just copy/steal your plan, just on a smaller version.

Definitely, ROI isn't great depending on available rebates. Although It would be nice to have during outages...

@Kordare id recommend a solar generator then. Can get a nice one for a couple thousand. Very handy for outages

Great Job! very impressed, I don't use the word over built I prefer higher quality for longer use. there was one thing I would have done differently is on the larger ramp I would have installed the plywood in the other direction it's much stronger especially when it comes to driving a 1000 lb. zero turn mower on the ramp like I have, in that case I still use a double layer of 3/4" plywood on the ramp and shed wherever the zero turn sets,
@KordareКүн бұрын
Thanks a lot! If I do get anything very heavy I could always add a layer of plywood to that ramp 👍

I don't mean to criticize but my observation is why did you frame the shower including the light fixture? It's not necessary to shower and I wouldn't have electric and water together. The shower enclosure could have been a barrier between them.

So I can shower at night! It's an outdoor light fixture so it is totally fine with water.

Idea i heard: build a house under a pole barn for ease of build ( take your time /protection from the elements) and the ultimate in weatherproofing. Or buy a manufactured home and place it under a pole barn

😍 Well done! That looks beautiful. Personally I don’t like decks but that’s just because of the weather in my area I would have to put a top over it and make it a nice porch. Which it looks like you could do later on. If you wanted. Still though it looks really good. Love the fact you thought of weeds coming up through the deck.

Speaking from a woman’s prospective. It is very obviously a bachelor’s pad, but it looks amazing. You are doing a wonderful job on it. Thank you for the cost breakdown. I’m really wanting to build a shop house for myself and your layout has looked the most affordable I have seen. My only problem is I am not as good of a DIYer like yourself. Lol. Still saving for it but I’ll get there eventually. Once again, awesome job on everything.

Another amateur doesn't know better than to drill through the flanges. If your caulk fails and gets up into the flange area, what do you think will happen? It'll find its way through those screw holes into the cavity. Why not use Z-clips or screws with washers with the bottoms of the screws touching the top of the flange? You really should have used soldered copper down to the tub spout because PEX B decreases to 3/8 through the fittings, causing a restriction where you can end up with water coming out of both the tub spout and the shower head at the same time. Lastly, use copper stub outs from Sioux Chief to stub out for the toilet and vanity, or lug ells and screw in nice chrome nipples. PEX stubbed out feels cheap and like a wet noodle when operating the stop valves. If your'e going through this much, go the extra distance. It's a permanent installation, so why not?
@Kordare8 күн бұрын
I have trouble imagining water defying gravity and going up into those screw holes. I used 3/4" PEX down to the tub spout so there is no issue with water coming out the head while filling. I did use a copper stubout for the toilet.
@ruelsmith8 күн бұрын
@Kordare it happens when the flow of water is greater than the outlet's restriction. The connection from the tub spout to the shower head is wide open. The only reason it comes out of the shower head, normally, is because you block its path at the tub spout, so it backs up and out of the shower head. If you have flow great enough from the hot and cold feed, but the outlet of the tub can not let it out fast enough, it backs up and comes out of the shower head, too. It's common when people put an offset out of the valve to the tub spout. It needs to be free flowing. If you have low water pressure, it's less likely to happen. To prevent it from happening, you want the tub spout to be as wide open as possible. PEX B (crimp type) has built-in restrictions in the fittings. Essentially, each pipe size is reduced in flow to a smaller size because the barbed fittings are smaller than the pipe. Copper and Pex A (expansion PEX) are full size through the fittings.
@Kordare8 күн бұрын
I understand the science behind it, I am a mechanical engineer of over 10 years. For that exact reason I used a larger PEX tubing going down to the tub spout which mitigates the problem completely.

How does that resonator differ from an straight through muffler? It got insulation and perforated pipe. Or are the perforations drilled in a way it cancels out only certain frequencies? Is it possible to make a same type of resonator that makes every sound range of the exhaust smoother?
@Kordare15 күн бұрын
Honestly I don't know what classifies a resonator vs a muffler
@benjaminnurmentaus423214 күн бұрын
@Kordare Ive looked at everything on The internet and only thing i found was that resonators cancel out certain frequencies while mufflers just muffle the sound. But never how a resonator that looks like a straight through muffler actually has any difference from one.
