The most heartbreaking part about Angela’s story is that she walked up those stairs believing she deserved what happened.

Maria is not a real person, she is also a montster, kinda created by silent hill to test james. Since mary got sick, james got frustrated as his life has turned into a babysitter for his sick wife. He couldn't do anything he wanted that's why he had to kill her, to get his life back. But after doing that he got a lot of guilt and regret, that's why the town called him to test him. Maria was created by silent hill, from james' wish to have a healthier partner. You get the Maria ending if you took care of maria too much, or kept visiting her room when she rested. That's why she always gets killed and kept returning, it's silent hill showing james that it's a vicious cycle no matter what he chooses, that's why he needs to accept his guilt in order to escape. Laura is Mary's bestfriend in the hospital, that's why she is connected. Probably told her she would adopt Laura. Laura doesn't see monsters in Silent Hill because she is innocent. Only people with heavy baggage gets too see monsters. Some of James' monsters are a representation of his frustrations with her wife. as you can see the nurses and the mannequins look sexy, whiles the lying figuers are straight jacketed and constricted like how mary feels being sick. She feels constricted being on a death bed while spewing bad words to james/or spewing things from the medicin or being sick. Eddie's silent hill is that it's cold and there is always a dead body, because his monsters are people bullying laughing at him. If you watch the cutscenes, his breath is always cold, whilst the others arent because that's what his silent hill looks like, on which we see at his boss fight. Angela is abused by his father and raped. She kill her father and also got called by silent hill. Angelas pyramid head counterpart is Abstract daddy. If you see the boss it looks like a bedframe with two people doing intercourse under a blanket. Her silent hill is all the walls are made of skin while being penetrated by pistons, as you can see on the abstract daddy boss fights as it represents flesh being penetrated by a foreign object. Her final silent hill is that she always sees the world on fire hence the staircase scene. hope this answers a lot.

Good take, I agree with most of what you said. I don't think Laura is not real though for a couple reasons. Why is the kid alone in Silent Hill and why is there no information on her parents? That seems very odd to me had she been real. Also, in the end, she walks out of the cemetery with James, (away from death) and out of Silent Hill. Again, where are her parents and why is she following a complete stranger? That's why I don't think she's real. I believe Laura is a personification of the child that Mary and James could have had together if she were healthy. That is why she is so concerned with Mary and vice versa.
@christianearlsabijon3430Ай бұрын
@@huangss00 Because she's an orphan, Plus eddie can see Laura. Reason why also Laura never interacted with maria because maria is the one who isnt real.
@huangss00Ай бұрын
@@christianearlsabijon3430 I also thought Laura was an orphan at first. However, when James reads Mary's letter to Laura, she says, "happy 8th birthday Laura". James then asks how old she is and Laura responds, "I turned 8 last week". I don't think Laura is real because Silent Hill looks like it's been desolate and abandoned a lot longer than 8 years for her to possibly exist. However, in Mary's letter, she says, "I love you Laura.... like my very own daughter.... I wish we could be happy together". To me, this suggests that it was James and Mary's desire to have a child (Laura) had Mary been healthy. Maria, (a personification of a healthy, fun, flirty, Mary) also shows a lot of concern for Laura. Good discussion, what's your take?
@christianearlsabijon3430Ай бұрын
Laura never lived in silent hill, she went to silent hill to look for mary. The I turned 8 last week is just for james to realize that mary couldn;t have died 3 years ago. Plus eddy can see Laura, unlike maria who can only be seen by james.

I've seen that some Devs prefer the "in water" ending, where James kills himself by driving into the water with his car at the end. In that ending you can see James looking at something in the backseat but the game doesn't show us what. The og Devs revealed that the games occurs 1 or 2 days after James kills Mary, which was in the backseat all along covered in a blanket that you can kinda spot at the begining of the game. Eddie, Angela and Laura are real and they all see a diffent version of the otherworld. (Laura is just a girl that Mary met during her time at the hospital) Maria and the monsters are all made by silent hill and they all represent something for and about James, like sexual repression, guilt or in Maria's case how James wanted Mary (in a way) to be.
@lukaszzylik4437Ай бұрын
@@Toothless_Ape yeah this is all true. A big theory people are throwing around is that Laura is a ghost or a part of Silent Hill but that's not true. The confusion comes from people thinking that Laura and Mary where patients in Brookhaven hospital, which they weren't. They became friends at whichever hospital is in Ashfield and that's where Laura learned about how much Mary loved Silent Hill. Laura and Eddie have never been in Silent Hill before.

Oh interesting. I wonder how one gets that ending. I need to see the other endings now. Thanks for explaining this!

The actual otherworld Lakeview Hotel is the one you are in before watching the videotape, remember what James says when he arrives there "this place hasn't changed at all in three years", pretty weird knowing that the whole town has been abandoned and the hotel stays in practically a perfect shape. The real Lakeview Hotel appears once James learns the truth and it is burnt and decayed.

@@seboyo6766 the town isn't abandoned though, that's just how it looks in the fog world. In the real world, everything is just business as usual
@seboyo6766Ай бұрын
@@thenicobossy I think Silent Hill is actually abandoned, in Silent Hill there are three parallel dimensions, one is the real one, where you see a normal abandoned town, another is the fog dimension, where paranormal events start to happen and the other is the Other World, where the remnant of Alessa's living nightmare mixes with the psyche of the people who are trapped in the fog world, creating physical manifestations of their most hidden secrets and traumas.
@thenicobossy23 күн бұрын
@@seboyo6766 According to the games lore, Silent Hill has always been this way. The cult knew of the town's powers and they must have thought It was an act or manifestation of their God. The town is not abandoned in the real world. By the time the events of Silent Hill Downpour take place, it is even considered a small city with a lot of tourism. The main character, Murphy, was being transferred to the Silent Hill Penitentiary, another hint that the town is pretty much active. It is stated in Silent Hill 1 and 3 indirectly that the town is not abandoned and also in Silent Hill 4. Henry, the protagonist, took a trip to the town to take pictures of its scenery as it is famous for that and he thought nothing of the town other than how beautiful and peaceful it was. In Silent Hill 2, it is stated several times that James and Mary went for their vacation to the town and stayed at the now burned down Lakeview Hotel. When it comes to the Otherworld, Alessa's nightmarish realities where only seen and experimented on by Dahlia, Harry, Cybil, Lisa, Kauffman, other members of the cult, Douglas, Claudia and Vincent. And their individual psyche was intertwined with Alessa's otherworld. The town always had the capacity to attract and trap people with deep rooted trauma and massive guilt in its other worlds. Even in the Short Message, this is discovered by researchers and it is found in other places around the world, being called The Silent Hill phenomenon

The mirror puzzle, you got the snow white statue. If you build the mirror, it mirrors to the other room on the otherside. Where you put the apple, on the otherside of the room is the statue. If you enter the other room without fixing the mirror the room is empty, because the mirror isn't built yet.
@fuzhpuzyАй бұрын
Ohhh I see! I'm still guessing the rotten apple was not meant to be used there then? Somehow the good apple disappeared in my inventory as well after using the rotten one there.
