While she lays sleeping I stay out late at night and play my songs And sometimes all the nights can be so long And it's good when I finally make it home, all alone While she lays dreaming I try to get undressed without the light And quietly she says, "How was your night?" And I come to her and say "It was all right, " and I hold her tight And she believes in me I'll never know just what she sees in me I told her someday if she was my girl I could change the world With my little songs, I was wrong But she has faith in me And so I go on trying faithfully And who knows maybe on some special night If my song is right I will find a way Find a way While she lays waiting I stumble to the kitchen for a bite Then I see my old guitar in the night Just waiting for me like a secret friend And there's no end while she lays crying I fumble with a melody or two And I'm torn between the things that I should do And she says to wake her up when I am through God, her love is true And she believes in me I'll never know just what she sees in me I told her someday if she was my girl I could change the world With my little songs, I was wrong But she has faith in me And so I go on trying faithfully And who knows maybe on some special night If my song is right I will find a way While she waits While she waits For me

@floodedtick who agree w/ u? American Idol is where a singer should b able to sing n perform, not if the song is boring or not. Also the song Call me n Fallin' r two of the songs people often use to showcase their vocals, so they're both singing songs, if u want proof try Xfactor n auditions from the past. Any song is a singing song, if u a good artist u should b able to make it ur own n to make it sound good.

It's very apparent that Idol wasna looking for all-round talent. Almost everything Scotty sang (and Lauren) was a slow Country ballad. Admittedly he broke out with That's All Right and Gone, and was really good at them, but everything else was so dreich and samey, and he displayed very little versatility. His duets with Lauren were just the same, and the judges gave the same kind of song that he's be comfortable with and would show off his voice (admittedly a good one) to the best possible advantage. Randy made it quite clear that it doesna do things like sing Whitney Houston and then Lee Ann Rimes or Debby Harry and Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson. It means you don't know what you want to do with your career. Actually, it means that Idol and the popular music establishment arena keen to promote somebody that refused to be pigeon-holed or labelled, and restricted in what he or she would sing. Randy also made it quite clear that he is an absolute arsehole.

So are u don't know good music
@gynack3 жыл бұрын
@@jasminerampersad8434 I don't claim that Scotty was poor at what he did. Admittedly my reaction to his songs is largely subjective. I found then dreich and dull. I'm not saying that he didn't sing then well, and he has a good voice. However, he was very, very limited in the range of material that he sang. Haley, in contrast, tackled, very successfully a wide range of genres, and was criticised for it rather than given praise for her mastery of different genres. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Country - she did them all. However, compared to the eulogising others received, praise for Haley was very limited - even when she was given Standing Ovations. Yet she actually received more Standing Ovations than any of he others: five if you include her duet on Moanin' with Casey Abrams, and her duet with Tony Bennett.
@iComeWithU13 жыл бұрын
@floodedtick Also, Haley for the most part sounded like shes screaming n reading the words. I admit tho she had "some" good performances, her AI journey is just inconsistent, some bad n some good week. Just to point out, I'm not a Scotty' fan, its just that out of the top 3, he prob. the most technique singer n very consistent, so the best out of three. However, Casey Abrams was prob the best singer of that season, too bad America didn't let him further is journey.

Maybe when he's 50 he'll be able to sing with feeling like Kenny Rogers did. He'll be forgotten, just like Lauren.
@iComeWithU13 жыл бұрын
@floodedtick three standing ovations? only? great that u pointed out how lil she got versus other singers lol. She did better than Scotty if he were to sing it, I'm sorry are these facts or just your opinion? U pointed out in the other comments that he sings boring country music every week that to say u don't even know how to listen to music if u calling it boring. Haley's choice on music are better than Scotty, but her performance on the songs r not so great, very inconsistent.
@glendavanaken83823 жыл бұрын
Ok
@vidpie Жыл бұрын
Haley was not inconsistent. Two of the judges painted her that way by criticizing her choice of song or saying things like someone else had come out and set the bar--without actually criticizing her performance. Randy Jackson told Haley Reinhart this on a podcast he started in 2017: "You are one of the ones that I really thought would have a career because doing that stuff you do with the jazz stuff is not easy. It's hard to do, and you sing it with more melody than a lot of the songs on the radio today. Some of them I love, but they're like four chords. So with four chords your melody is always going to be limited. With the jazz stuff, it's about singing through multiple chord changes. It's a very different thing, so your ear has to be trained so acutely, and then you also love the rock side. So I always thought it was a really interesting thing."
