Hi again, I'm following you from Florida and I'm so happy Legglife found and recommended you. Can't wait to hear and watch your first impressions when arriving in Alaska. I've visited once (last year during a Land/Sea Cruise) and I can't wait until I return next year March, to see the Northern Lights in Fairbanks. Alaska is breath-taking beautiful. Safe travel.

Did it 15 years ago on my Harley. Age 70. Michigan to Homer Alaska. Pink Mtn had 2 camp grounds at that time. Beware when you see orange stakes straddling the road. Frost Boil. High test gasoline sometimes was not avaiilable. Took almost 3 weeks, Alcan Hwy was beautiful, Only regret, did not make it to Prudhoe Bay.

Must been a beautiful journey! I bet Alcan was way less developed and busy 15 years ago.

Thinking of maybe doing it again in my 2020 Subaru Ascent, towing a small camping trailer. Prudhoe Bay would be the goal. Also the Stuart Cassier highway in B,C., Canada, But you must visit Chicken Alaska LOL If you do, you will know why the laughter.

@@neilrasche4510 They say these engines are "okay" at mid grade gasoline but only in a "pinch" maybe purchase some octane boost just in case? Fun cycle ride, Neil. I am 61 and just had a 3 night camp out with my Subaru (car camping with flushing toilets and running water). 20 minute drive from home. You are an inspiration to me!!

Looks great! I also enjoy car camping in beautiful places so I can relate. Cars are so much more versatile than large campers. Rough roads are more accessible and an occasional city layover is less obvious to everyone. Best of luck. You'll be spending time in my home province of British Columbia. Looking forward to seeing more places with you!

They have containers of beads that absorb moisture, we use them in our campers in canada (usually they are found at dollaramas lol). You can also get more of those meals at stores like cabelas or local outdoors stores depending on which way you go through canada is dependent on what store you will get. Safe travels!

Hello, dzien dobry! I’m happy to see that you are on your way to Alaska. I (Helena) live in southern Ontario and have friends that are also travelling to Alaska. They have just started on the Alaskan Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. I am practicing my Polish reading the “cc” commentary. My Polish is a little rusty since my parents passed away so I’ll have to go back and listen to your English version as well….lol. I wish I had discovered car camping earlier but I’m learning as much as I can and hope to do some exploring soon. In the meantime I look forward to “sharing” your travels. Stay happy, stay safe. Szczesliwego podroz….sorry, don’t have a Polish keyboard!

Thank you for such a nice comment Helena! You defnitely should try car camping - it’s fun and feel incredibly empowering. And it’s really impressive that you want to practice your Polish through c captions on YT! Dziękuję i powodzenia w nauce!

I am super proud of you! You are not alone. We are here with you. And, if you believe in God (Love) then you are surrounded all the time. I eagerly watched this first video. Perfect for my moment in time (starting a Mind Mapping class - changing core beliefs). By the way, when you show the badlands (is that what you called the beautiful place) please pan the camera slower because it gives the camera a chance to focus better and allow us to see it. Very pretty. Thank you for who you are! Love to hear your boxer [engine]. It's a lovely sound to me (2004 Subaru Forester 2.5XT now 2.0XT donor). Much love to you.

Do you really have to put expensive 93 octane in your car? If your car does not require it, there is zero benefit to your car’s health or performance.
