MasterChef Canada S04 E03 Full Episode: For their first team challenge, the home cooks were tasked with making a buffet lunch for new Canadian citizens. Each team had to make one curry and one noodle dish, one of which had to be vegetarian, with a salad side for the guests. Justine and Miranda were the Red and White Team captains, respectively. Justine chose Trevor, Aaron, Jordan and Alisha for her team, Miranda chose Mai, Matt, Thea, and Kimberly for her team. The judges gave Barrie the option to picking which team to join, and he chose to join the Red team, who were declared the winners. Subscribe: / masterchefworld
The home cooks from the White Team had 30 minutes to cook squid ink noodles with a soft boiled egg, including extracting the ink sac themselves. Miranda was given the option to save herself or one of her teammates, and she decided to save herself. Thea's pasta dish was considered the best, and she was the first to be saved safe. Of the remaining home cooks, Mai's dish lacked salt, Matt's egg was overcooked, and Kimberly's pasta was undercooked and her egg was broken. As her dish had the most issues, Kimberly was eliminated.

Mirandas leadership was faulty on so many levels •right from the start she was so keen to show shes the boss that her teammates felt supressed. This ultimately backfired on her •had she taken input from her teammates she wouldve known that kim can make GOOD curry Justine did the right thing by letting alisha do what shes good at. • she really said "we win as a team and we sink as a team" and then saved herself. People accept you as a leader only when they trust you and your ability. No one would like to be bossed around by someone who dosent know what they're doing

I know this is a competition so it's doesn't really bother me when someone want to save themselve. But if ur team lose because of ur bad leadership then u better take the responsibility for it. Miranda don't organize things right, she's to focus with the curry and leave all the pasta and salad dish for another teammate. When chef Claudio told her to do the noodle done she suddenly blame them because can't work the dish ASAP. What a shitty behavior as a leader

Here's my take on the contestants: JUSTINE - a weak, unnecessarily loud player. The only reason her team won was because they were all very mature at the tasks given to them, you don't need to babysit them, they handled their job very diligently. MIRANDA - absolute garbage captain, a mean and shallow player who can't accept defeat and makes nasty comments when she loses. Her humor is just pathetic for me ( it's not over till the fat lady sings", bishhh whatttt?? ). Her as a player is Nightmare. She acts all sweet but turns nasty and disgusting super quick. TREVOR - absolute hustler. He just knows his stuff and while he can be pompous, He backs it up with his cooking. Just love him.

I don't really think that saving yourself in one elimination round will save you from being eliminated. They should learn through those elimination rounds if they really came to this competition to learn like they always say during the audition. You can learn as much from watching the others. You're able to focus on everyone and notice their mistakes, weaknesses & strengths, taking notes of what might come instead of panicking from the pressure plus being there for the prize is literally what they all want because it opens a lot of opportunities for them and exposure. These are some weak homecooks 😑 compared to ssn 1 and 2 they're srsly like chickens with their heads cut off. Miranda was not really a good leader, she should've included all her team members and put their assets to work, kimberly could've made curry only if Miranda let her. This is such an odd thing to watch. You're welcoming new citizens to your country and you cook a bunch of ethnic foods from literally anywhere else in the world except your home. You're about to offer these people their first meal as new citizens, and not one person there thought "I think we need to serve them something authentically Canadian to welcome them to their new adopted homeland." If we had new American citizens, I guarantee you they'd be getting some American classics on the plate. Why would you serve curry to people to literally just left the places where that food was invented? Do these people have no sense of what a Canadian identity is? Or do they just have no pride in it such that they'd want to show it off? /baffling

From my own perspective, it's better to welcome the new citizens with the said people's new homeland dishes as a way to introduce them to the culture & foods they're going to encounter in the country. It's harmless and it doesn't force anybody to change themselves, they can still be themselves and have their own cultures from their former homelands to be carried over while absorbing the new cultures from the new homeland. That's like one of the main ways cultures travel across the world and crossover each other to collab and coexist
