Thank you for the VERY informative video! I can’t believe that I am just coming across your channel now! I am working my way through some skepticism (based on several blogs) about the capabilities and problem issues with the P2 before I drop $5,000.00. I have the Xtool 20 watt diode laser and it has been a very good experience these past few months.
@CasualDIY Жыл бұрын
So far no issues. Its about correct maintenance of this laser to make sure it lasts. I was using mainly the diode lasers but I have to say the capabilities of P2 are vast. However I think the extra cool features are locked behind the pricey accessories. Overall all for me so far it's easy to use and work with, the software it's really good. That's going to be my main workhorse for getting my business going.

Hi, great video. Was your plywood from a hardware store or specialty craft plywood? Thanks

I use laser dedicated plywood.

Good morning . I would like to know if you use Windows 11 to work with p2; For my part when I use Windows 11, the machine stops when I burn with the default electrical connection air pump. I tested with an old Windows 10 computer, which is very slow, the machine works very well without problems. Maybe you could help me. THANKS. Happy Holidays

Hi, I have a Windows 11 Home and have no issues at all. Could be software related, are you using the xTool software for it? Maybe it would need a reinstall? Or maybe the the USB cable connecting your computer and machine is the issue? My connection on the laptop is bit wobbly and if i move the laptop as the machine is working I loose connection.
@dronedjiair2setlaserco2 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your answer. I use xtool software. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times and I tested with an Ethernet cable, it's always the same for burning. I do not know what to do. Maybe I'm using gaming?

when engraving is the thickness of the material important? My assumtion is no but????
@CasualDIY11 ай бұрын
You engrave the face of the material. So thickness doesn't matter however it needs to fit in the machine. Although you can get a riser bed for it to engrave thicker materials.

Quite an impressive machine, but for that price it should be ... I'm still of the impression that it is way overpriced!! Anyway, thank you for the time taken to do these extensive tests, it showcases a lot of real world uses and will be extremely useful for someone thinking of purchasing this machine 👍
@CasualDIY Жыл бұрын
Yes its expensive I have to say but it's more dedicated for a small business rather than a DIYer (unless you are very rich 🤣) And the quality and extra features make it more understandable where it comes to the price. However I can imagine some heavy discounts on this product next year.

My P2 isn't cutting anywhere near that well On the 3mm basswood plywood that came with the xtool package I ordered, the square can't be pushed out running 69% at 19mm/s 6mm plywood from makerstock takes 4 passes running 100% power @ 10 mm/s

@@cymilson9231 the maximum working size is 600x300. If you get the conveyor attachment then it's 300x no limit in theory

3mm plywood, cutting at 80mm/s with a 55 watt tube. Hmmm,Try cutting a 50m square with these settings and then question the validity of the test that many other rely on also.
@CasualDIY Жыл бұрын
You know you can increase the speed and power right? It was a test to establish correct settings. It's my first CO2 Laser and most of my experience is based on diode lasers.
@SarbarMultimedia Жыл бұрын
The comment was not written with any intended criticism. The jump from diode to CO2 is massive and there is so much more to discover and learn. Almost everyone relies on the parameters that can supposedly be found by using a cutting or engraving matrix. What seems like a fantastic way to understand your new machine is sadly flawed in so many ways.P lease watch these two videos that will demonstrate clearly why you should be sceptical of matrix parameters. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJKYkGmloLqsgck and kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5_Rpottl9Sse6M The Xtool CO2 laser is a lovely well designed machine but ALL laser machines rely on the SAME two elements for their cutting and engraving performance.......... a laser beam and a lens. Everything else is just a "pretty dress" Sincere best wishes for your new CO2 laser journey
