Before Ibn Hisham, 5here is IBN Ishaaq. Alfred Guilliame has collated and translated it. Both Hisham and Ishaq works are lost. If you notice - hadiths and sirah were written after Abbasids rose to power. Durig Sirah written durig Ummayyad times are all lost. Further, none of the Hadirh AND Sirah written are written at Mecca or Medina, but at Baghdad, Basra or at Bukhara.

Khadijah didn't marry Muhammad because he had some signs of prophecies. It was actually Muhammad who took initiative to marry khadijah. The latter was rich business woman and Muhammad, on the other hand was poor. Muhammad by nature was very opportunist man and wouldn't let any single chance out of his hands. That is why khadijah didn't have any problem to marry Muhammad because he was 15 years younger than her. Khadijah had money but she wanted to get sexual life comfortable as well. So both had there own interest in this kind of marriage.
