This conversation was so timely for me. I’m an admittedly layperson when it comes to astrology, and I recently started learning about sidereal. A part of me wants to find a way to integrate and find meaning in both tropical and sidereal systems, but in the discourse, it’s often either/or. I’m curious on how others reconcile this, and thanks for sharing your perspective about the relationship between the two. Thanks!

I hear you! I’m using both and I think it gives me so much more depth. It is also really interesting and fun to explore both! I do think though it very much depends on a personal build :) Some people can take more systems and work with them and get benefits, others prefer one. Like with tarot decks- some people go on overwhelm with too many, others do just fine :)

i love this topic. what i would have loved to hear about would have been things like planetary rulership, especially for ophiuchus, and also how athen decided on which house system to use. although i have been familiar with his work for quite a while and know that he provides a lot of educational ressources for free, i would have loved to hear him talk about this a bit more. such a pity i missed the live! but, i reckon there will be many more interesting conversations on true sidereal astrology in the future and thus many more opportunities to talk and ask about all of it! i myself have not decided yet on how i resonate with my constellational chart, but seeing it as developmental has brought a new perspective that might help greatly with that. cheers kasia and athen, that could have been a few hours longer :)

Good questions Gigi! I guess Ophiuchus will be sharing the rulership with Scorpio. But I could imagine Chiron ruling it or maybe one of the minor planets? Or asteroids? Maybe Scorpio would be Mars and Ophiuchus Pluto? What are your picks? :) Yeah… the houses. I didn’t think of asking him! I would like to ask him about it now too :)

@@tarotmap hmmm so hard to say about the rulership, i would think scorpio pluto and ophiuchus mars would make sense, too; but i also like chiron! see that's why i would have loved to ask athen because of his experience with the effects of ophiuchus; would really need to observe for quite a while to be able to say, right? what's your impression so far?

@@giginilssonI wouldn’t go Mars for Ophiuchus. I would keep Mars for Scorpio. As Athen mentioned in the interview Ophiuchus seems to be more focused on transforming poison into healing etc. So Pluto fits better than Mars in my opinion
