I Just Bought all True Addons, True terrain, true sky, true vdb, the new nodescape i created a kind of sci fi terrain but i have a really hard time with scalling and unwrapping and all the positioning of the textures would be really nice a tutorial from scratch hehehehe the terrain, than the lighting and the ambiance with true sky. Im still new to 3d just been leaning blender for the pass 7 months but i started my first short Animated sci fi movie some scene i want to do im really scatching my head how i will be able to do lol. Very nice looking landscape.

First of all, Thanks for your kind words and I´m sure you will be as happy as I am with all your True-Vfx addons. I could make such a video, but I´m not sure people would be interested in that - I have done so many already on all the different aspects and if I do a long, in depth video, people will be bored, no? :) Scaling is super important and I have done a separate video just about that - maybe it can help you out. I have a scene with a partial ocean horizon. How do I adjust True Sky's horizon to match mine?

The horizon line is fixed - like in real life. However you can blur it out with the Aliasing function. OR - add a cloudsystem and obscure the horizon line with them. At least that´s what I do ;)

Oohh, good question, but I´m not into animation and haven´t tried it yet. However, those clouds are beautiful when animated, and I don´t see a reason why you should be able to fly through them.

Thanks for the tutorial. I am a little new to Blender and I have a question. How do you get the viewport like you have here, where it is only rendering within the camera view? I'm sure there's a setting somewhere, I just can't find it.

Glad you like the Follow Along video! Appreciate the feedback a lot. Regarding your question: Go to "Output Properties" (the icon looks like a printer) and activate "Render Region" in the Format (that´s where you set your Resolution). Hope that helps

Which one of the addon did you use to place snow on the mountains? I can't find that in True Terrain... or maybe that's a part of the ultimate package?

Hmmm, I have TT Ultimate and Snow is a "layer" like Secondary Ground or Cliffs - not sure if Snow is only available in Ultimate but it would be strange. I´ll check with the developers

@@MrBerglmir No, my bad. I found it after some fiddling. :) EDIT: no snow is showing though, even after following your steps, but probably something I did wrong :P

@@quadgon snow starts at 0/0/0 - make sure your terrain is properly scaled (applied!) and positioned. You can also go to Snow Slope-Show Advanced Options and decrease the default value of 0,500 to something like 0,200 and see if it makes a difference

@@MrBerglmir Yeah, I figured out tehe scale thing. Scaled it up a bunch, applied (and changed the strength in the True-terrain displace modifier accordingly) and show appeared :) Thanks!

PSA is more about super realistic lighting and - in my opinion - is not providing such great clouds, haze, and other volumetrics as True Sky. Pure Sky - again, just my 2 Cents - had a bumpy start, but since they were able to make it work in Cycles, it´s definitely an alternative.

I think all of them have their usage and special USP. I´m probably too lazy and if I like and feel comfortable with one Addon, I tend to use that in favor of all others.

@@MrBerglmir be prepared to hit render and go on vacation...lol...just did a test with a gtx 2080 ti on a bare bones scene and it took five minutes to render at 1080 p
