Pregnancy can change your body and while these changes may not bother some women, it can greatly bothers others. There are procedures for those who are looking for options. Thank you Harper's for the chance to help educate everyone. We discuss specifics about cosmetic surgery procedures on our You Tube Channel. It is important for us to respect those who choose to undergo cosmetic procedures, just as it is important to respect those who are opposed to surgery.

Don't forget about chemical changes too... like the multitude of women who suffer from postpartum. Or even the more 'menial' changes like how when you have a kid your values and sense of self changes; your happiness and mental stability lies in the life/death of another being rather than just yourself...

GarriFree, stop and imagine your parents with those same concerns before they had you! Would you have been born? It's a choice one makes, whether or not to have a child/children. However, a woman shouldn't base that decision solely on the way(s) giving birth will change her body afterward. Love and desire for a child should precede any eventual planning for one. As long as you can financially provide for the child when he/she is born, in terms of the support system you'll need in the area of childcare in the absence of a more trusting family members, like a reliable partner and/or grandparents. When these worries come first, doubts don't exist. It shows you're a responsible, selfless, and thoughtful person already. Fortunately, nowadays, having a child doesn't have to involve you actually getting pregnant anymore. There are a few ways a woman can have a child without it altering her 'figure' [if it's only the issue here]. Additionally, if money is no object and love is already in abundance in your heart, perhaps the following routes/options should appeal to you: A. Adoption [it's been around for ages, actually. One can give love and raise any child. B. Surrogacy it's her (and her partner's) embryo growing in another woman's womb, for a fee, of course]. Whatever you do, please don't just have a child for the sake of having one. Or bc that's what you think successful women/couples' [in committed relationships] next step is/should be. Rather, that decision should include the love, desire, and readiness for one. A child isn't an accessory one can discard once it's purchased. It's a life of a human mammal. And, unlike other mammals' babies, our offsprings take longer to navigate the world and become independent. Therefore, most of your focus will be required to help develop that child for a long time. Will you have time for a helpless little person or should you leave the business of having children to another woman, who isn't this obsessively concerned about their body, such as you are!? Beside money, you'll need to invest lots of time in that child, too make sure he/she's equipped with the necessary tools to become a successful adult. In your case, can you really say you'll love that child unconditionally even when you don't feel sexy anymore? Just be mentally prepared for what will come after you deliver your child, like a few of the ladies here voiced their experiences and adjusted as needed to make themselves happy; happy parents, happy child/children. They'd do it again in a heartbeat, if they had to do it all over again, they said. They did whatever they had to without sounding shallow and regretful about it. Would you be able to do the same, dear?

Wow, lots of hate in the comments... Mostly from other women. Did not expect that. 😕 What many people don't consider when commenting negatively on these women are the psychological ramifications of pregnancy and birth for body and soul. Whilst the journey of having a baby is magical and beautiful, it's also brutal and literally tears your body apart in ways you couldn't imagine beforehand. (Let alone the changes to your emotions and your neurological wiring.) The desire to reclaim control and agency over your body is a very relatable reaction for me that goes deeper than just plain vanity or meeting any current beauty standard.

Before kids I was 102 lbs, after four kids I’m 106 lbs, so on paper I “bounced back”. But since I’m so petite, and my babies were a substantial size when born, my belly is ruined. My belly button hangs down, my skin is loose. My breasts have always been small which is fine, but now they are droopy. From the neck down to my lower abs, I have the body of a 60 year old, but I’m only 30. I would love this surgery just so I could look and feel my actual age all over.

I don't think the husband's need praise for supporting them I mean it's their job as a husband but to be realistic here, what man wouldn't support their women after a mummy makeover, if a woman likes her appearance she'll feel good and look good and every man would be happier coz their woman gets their dream body, those men don't need no praise either coz the surgery is for their wives not them, they just need to do their job as a husband and support their partners decisions ☺️

I was 95 lbs. before my 3 kids. I bounced back in a good time after my eldest. After my twins, AH! My abdominal muscle separated by a little over two inches. My OB advised that exercise and physical therapy will provide temporary relief but if I want to get rid of it - tummy tuck or abdominaplasty is the only solution. Still thinking of it.

The worst part was the separation of my abdominal wall of more than 2 inches. The loose skin also puts pressure on my bladder. I pee myself. So uncomfortable. I was 95 lbs pre-pregnancy. Three babies later, 115 lbs… no worries abt the number since I still looked proportion. The loose skin, belly pouch and ab muscle broke down was what killed me. Sometimes, it gets in the way of doing simple everyday things. Thats motherhood.

I absolutely love my body and it's shape, which is why I am terrified of pregnancy. I'm quite sure that I want kids so there's no way around it and the more I see these kinds of videos, the more scared I get. I really hope my body will return back to normal after having children. If it doesn't, it will most likely break me mentally so I'd end up having to get surgery. I hate being a woman sometimes.

I have friends that bounced right back after babies. I had my son at 40 and I didn’t. My son is worth everything though. I’m working on looking and feeling better. Working on being healthy and finding the new me. It’s a journey. An adventure. I have a huge incentive now…my little son. I may even have a procedure done later if that goes along with being the best version of myself. Don’t be afraid of pregnancy and motherhood. Just be proactive and strive to be the best you possible.

Let's not kid ourselves, it is no more than skin deep. However, it is not their fault, society at large only condones one version of the female body, and beauty politics are pretty much the only resemblance of dignity for women. They were coerced socially into these procedures because women cannot have different bodies and be sexual. The language they were using didn't come about from thin air "everything was where it's supposed to be" for instance is a socially held belief about women bodies indicating that our skin must not move, it must not age, it must not be affected; even though we logically know that it must.

I agree with what you say about society and its ridiculous expectations. However, I personally can say that it *can* be more than skin deep. While I was never pregnant, I know what it feels like to suddenly not look like who you are and how much that alone can psych you out. I used to paddle and I was on my way to being a competitive athlete until I stopped recently. I suddenly went from a healthy weight to looking like a used-car lot inflatable mascot. I no longer look like the athlete I spent over a year developing in a couple of months. TBH it really sucks. These women spent their lives looking in the mirror expecting to see one thing but suddenly, instead of seeing someone else with their face. It's disheartening to look into the mirror and not see the body you grew comfortable with, or are even proud of. Especially when dealing with the stress of being a mom (and sometimes, being judged for being a "bad" mom), not having control your over your own body must be stressful. It seems like these women all felt like they lost their identity. They weren't always moms. They had passions, interests, and life before kids. Such a drastic change in their bodies seemed to physically cut their lives into a "before kids" identity and a "mom" identity. OFC you don't need a super deep reason to decide to get plastic surgery and societal expectations are definitely a factor in deciding. These are just my two cents on why a changing body can be stressful even without the ridiculous expectations mainstream society puts on a woman's body.

Have you actually had kids? Try having children ripping open your body; separate your abs; and then have to deal with the consequences of incontinence, back pain, and loose skin and chafing. They didn't go into the physical specifics of some of what they described, but moms know. All this self-righteous judgment could instead be compassion and respect that the process of child bearing is difficult, and even moms can choose to restore themselves to where they were before kids.

Sometimes it’s not necessarily someone else’s opinion or society, etc.. sometimes it is simply not liking how different they look especially if someone was happy with themselves before. As someone who was once quite slim and attractive who do to injuries and health issues gained a lot of weight which no amount of diet and exercise can address what is left even after weight loss, etc.. When the person you see no longer resembles that younger, healthier you it takes a psychological toll.
