It’s loosely based on the (real) life of Mathilde Kschessinska, former Prima Ballerina of the Ballet of Saint Petersburg Theatre. She was the mistress of Tsar Nicholai and later married to his cousin, the Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich, a talented dancer on her own, Mathilde was forced to flee her home during the revolution, and went to live in Paris with her husband and son and died at 99 years old.

The real story about the ballerina and his wife want quite like this. He desperately loved the wife (their pictures and romantic, somewhat erotic, letters survive) and he had long since broken off from the ballerina. Side note: his father really did lift the train car alone in order to save his family. He them went down the line to help rescuers lift and save all the other people in the other train cars down the line. He severely damaged his back doing so and suffered from that until his death. Nicholas II was a good man and would have most likely made a great ruler had he been more modern but Russia was in need of a different kind of ruler and Nicholas was just in the wrong country at worst time period. They needed a military strategic mind and he cared too much for his people, soldiers, family, etc. and he wanted to build the people and country not enslave. The "reds", the rebellions, WWI, the Japanese, Influenza and that monster Lenin (who is hopefully spending his afterlife in eternity under torture). Oops, back on topic, while the death of his family was a tragedy, he was no saint.
@mariab7162 жыл бұрын
I've read a lot of books about that period in Russia and watched some movies. (Not American one). If you read Dostoevsky you'll understand the reasons behind the revolution. Lenin was accepted and encouraged by people because of the terrible conditions they were living in. Nicolaj wasn't a bad man for sure, and he had a beautiful family but he had no Idea what was happening in his country. He was an emperor but he was too naive. Good people aren't always good rulers. That tragedy could have been avoided. Just imagine a country where people were literally starving hearing about a war. They didn't need it at all, it destroyed definitely the fragile equilibrium of that country... The way his family died was a terrible consequences of the way they rulled. So sorry for them though, but his country was literally dying

All men can fall in love with any women. Love is something that everyone feels yet know one can ever figure out how it works in or where love really comes from. Our hearts our our brains or from some other spot in our body. It doesn’t make any sense how people develop the feeling of love. We don’t have any clue to where love comes from still. We just know that people start to feel love when something special happens. People think that their in love all the time. That cannot tell the difference between love and Infatuation at first. Everyone thinks their in love. They find out that they made a mistake. Most of the time it’s to late when they finally figure out that they weren’t in love but the true feelings were masked by the closest feeling of infatuation that last from months till a few years. Causing thousands on top of thousands of people never knowing that they were infatuated in their parters and not in love. Love doe’s developed over time. Someone that your not attached to. Over time you’ll fall hopefully in true love with them. How this happens in incredible and makes know sense what so ever. It had happened to me. From just lust to falling head over heals with. I put it to the test . I meant this woman 20 years my age and put my theory to the test. In time she fell totally deeply in love with me. To this very day. If I were to call her she would jump to marry me. That’s the power of love. Theirs isn’t any rules to true love. it comes and it goes as fast as love wants. We have know control over love. Our heart and minds can’t control how you fall in love with someone. Love isn’t prejudiced or racist. Love in completely uncontrollable. You can not over power love or even control love. Love is what it is a completely mystery to everyone. We just have strange feeling we consider to be what we take as love. Just that it really isn’t love. True love is something most people never really know how it feels. Love will make people do things that they would normally wouldn’t do at all never. True love will make you do anything. You’ll do it with the biggest smile across your face. I haven’t seen love for a real long time.
