You can't call Goodfellas a cult film. It was well received by critics and fans from the get go. That's not a cult film.

why do you keep calling Goodfellas a cult film? It is anything but. I don't get it. It was hugely successful at the box office, won Oscars and is among the most popular 90s films to this day. Repo Man is a cult film. Goodfellas is not a cult film.

So if you read and watch interviews with others in the life, like Michael Francese it's very believable that Henry Hill never physically whacked someone himself. He's usually described as the crew lackey or gopher. He wasn't a gangster in the traditional sense. They were all physically intimidating. Many of Paul varios generation were ex-boxers. Henry wasn't intimidating. His connections were and he learned to make money off of it. He was good friends with Paul Vario's son and by extension a pseudo family member for Paul Vario. He got his respect because of his youthful connection to Vario. Not his street rep and toughness. Now is it possible, even probable Henry had an issue with someone who wound up dead when Henry brought the issue to Vario? Yes.

@vinchenzo2502 Ive seen this so many times now I can recite the script in most parts!! I'll definitely take your advice though & look up the "real" Henry Hill. While I'm already aware he's not half as charming & clever as Ray Liotta, but then again who is? I love learning more about the characters an amazing movie ( like Goodfellas) is based on or inspired by. Thanks again for taking the time to point that out to me It's greatly appreciated!!!
