Oh how wonderfully, painfully deep and authentic you are Joni. This is helping me cope better with my husbands' dx of early onset dementia as well as loss of jobs, friends and familiarity in life due to our own choices as well as others. Painful! But yes, after some years now I am finally coming to this place of "only Jesus". And of course the best really is to come....

Joni,I have just found You on Utube! I have known Your accident! We used to see friends at Cheaspeake Ranch side! Itnwas so beautiful! Years passed I bought Your books & Send for Your calehdars..I fell & had a spinal cord injury in 1999 I WAS PARALYZED .FINALLY AFTER 6 WEEKS,THEY DECIDED IT WAS INCOMPLETE! I NEEDED SURGERY'S IT WASN'T UNTIL MY SECONG I REALIZED THIS WAN'T GOING TOGET A LOT BETTER?I LOST MY JOB & AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I AM IN A WHEEL CHAIR WITH 5 SURGERIES LATER,I AM DEPENDENT ON MY HUBBY! I USED TO HAVE YOUR CASSETTES ! GOD HAS WORKED ON MY "PRIDE" MY STUBBORNESS,ON &ON! I WILL BE LISTENING TO ALL THESE MESSAGES! YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON! GOD HAS DONE SO MUCH IN EVERYONE;S LIFE!ESPECIALLY NOW AS THE LORD HAS GIVEN ME 8 GRANDCHILD & 4 GREAT-CHILDREN! I do take the "spot light " TOO OFTEN! Even when You announced You had "Breast Cancer,I was un the hospital ( having 4 other surgeries ) The 5th being the hardest.I cried all night ,I could not believe Our Lord has givn You a disease that killed My Mom....... Yet,He brought You through! i remember thinking HE Has more YET ! You are a example to everyone! Your didn't get a great marriage easily ! You had to work at it!

Today as I listen to this Joni, my soul thru the suffering I too cry out to God not to desire self pity, grumbling and negativity. But to be in His presence and be filled with His joy and my suffering being in my rear window. To look forward running the race and be filled with Him. Today while reading one section each day in Psalms 119:26- 32. He spoke to me and my heart because I desire His will.

Yes, Joni is already teaching me about whining. Each one of us needs Jesus in our lives to help us get rid of being selfish and start living. We need Jesus 'SO BADLY' in our lives. Jesus is our resurrection and life. I myself worked for a C4-5 quadriplegic and know first hand the struggles this man went through. Never felt sorry for himself. Ran for town council twice. I was with him 13 years, 24/7.
