Her rubato is very "Rooshan" and a bit much, but she still sustains a beautiful long line and marvelous singing tone. I am SURE this is what Schumann-playing was like in Schumann's time.

marvellously played original full with ideas and the right grammar for those who understand music as being a language.Its easy to play fluid but this another sphere of artistic dimensions. This is so schumannesque Im sure he would be pleased.

She was certainly different from Richter in these pieces (as in many others). So loud! (I'm referring to Aufschwung.) However, great playing.

Rien n'est connu par avance avec Maria Yudina. Je ne trouve pas non plus qu'elle est très différente de Richter,-mais plus analytique certainement.En outre, beaucoup jouent Schumann dans un style hollywoodien:je ne crois pas que ce soit une norme de référence. Voir ces versions ahurissantes de Gieseking quand il était jeune.

Mechanical, pedantic, boring "throw every note in your face to make sure you really understand what the composer meant"! All done with a harsh ugly piano sound.
