I'm a bass player who plays a little guitar on the side. I want to get better on guitar I was completely unfamiliar with Josh. I'm so blown away by how well he plays, how educated he is about music, his range and how he is able to articulate musical concepts. I did not expect that from looking at him. What a incredible person. I love this guy. I will go over this video, see what I can get out of it, look for his CDs and probably sign up for his course

I almost like listening to Josh talk about guitar as much as I like listening to him play. Not quite but he's really good at explaining his ideas. Thumbs up Josh and TrueFire!

TrurFire, thank you, thank you. Josh, I have enjoyed this so much. You are so humble to be so talented. I feel like I met you years ago and now we are friends. You are that kind of guy

just found josh and i can already tell this is the first guy that explains things in a way i can get. i play almost every weekend on stage in front of people mostly improvising. His break down of how to play through changes makes sense. Its been one of my biggest struggles is finding those phrasings and a way to think about it that makes sense.

Your discussion about choosing solo solutions such as using turnaorunds, chromatic passages, diminished and/or augmented choices are great. My problem is finding those choices fast enough to make them usable, where they sound connected to the progression as opposed to just thrown in. This is very hard. You mentioned scatting or singing and copying those melodies. That's great. I'm going to try that. However, what other tools can I use to get there. Great Video. Thanks

This didn't help me at all with learning how to play but I can tell you that after a 12 hour day working my arse off I would be asleep 10 minutes into a planned half-hour work out. It just happened every time. It didn't do anything for my progress but so be it. :)

josh just forgets to say that to get this stage of playing what you feel, hear or imagine in real time, you have to have absolute control of harmony, neck, and intervals, and that takes thousands of years ahahahah

I know this may not be so important to a lot of players but when you are going to make a video class which we are so grateful for, believe me especially these guys!, just clean up your guitar nicely. Is this pointless bc just getting it onto your body it gets fingerprints again? i don't think of myself as OCD about this, IT JUST COULD LOOK MORE SPIFFY...which matches up with their unique talents they worked so hard to achieve!!

The interviewer is a little annoying. He over romanticises things a lot instead of focusing on asking really valid, really good questions that really make the interview better.
