Matt is a true inspiration. One of a king player, amazing phrasing, taste, groovie...everything. Amazing as always! Greetings from a little country house in Vilasindre, Lugo, Galicia ( North of Spain)!!!

Hi Matt. My friends and I have been waiting a long, long time for you to play a show in Wilmington, NC. We just saw Eric Johnson and Jimmy Vaughan here. Now it's your turn !

I like the way Matt plays slow blues . . . . it's his flavor of a classic blues theory.

Good to see Matt playing his '61 Strat. His playing is incredible!

Looks like it's been re-fretted with jumbos. I know he's stated he has replaced his original pickups as well. Funny, as I posted a question asking him if his SVL guitars were 7.25" radius. He replied..."I don't know." Proof positive you don't need to be a guitar-nerd to play great.

Fab live with Matt Schofield - so much great information to learn from this session! Matt and Robben Ford are the best cats on Truefire to help take your blues to the next level

Amen. I purchased Matt's first two courses, and then bought Jeff McErlane Blues Arpeggios and Advanced Blues soloing courses and went back to Matt's courses, much better equipped to get more out of them!! I preordered both of his new ones today. He's the reason I'm a Truefire member.

@@SONICBOOMERSOONER Interesting. I purchased both of Matt's courses and feel much "better equipped" for my Robben Ford classes - just didn't quite know how to put it in words.
@scottgutteridge18194 жыл бұрын
@@SONICBOOMERSOONER Yah, I hear you bro! Schofield's and Ford's courses provide so much more useful information. Most of the other Truefire blues instructors only give flimsy details. But, Schofield and Ford's courses are the full-meal deal - they provide several choruses of examples, which is so much more helpful.

@@lvpg2943 Yes! I'm finding the same, - funny, like you I can't explain why. Robben is 'the Man!'

Thanks again Matt & TrueFire. I don't mind at all if Matt's focusing on these courses instead of finishing his album, these are much better than albums!

My squire tele's maple neck pulls the calluses right off my fingertips too. Rosewood fingerboard acoustic is fine. Anyone else have this issue?

I love how he makes use of the lower three strings. That’s something I need to work on. For me it’s not a comfortable position to play in.

I still find it difficult to solo over slow blues and sound interesting...I think its my vibrato needs work but also there's no groove for me to latch onto...any ideas anyone??
@mojodaniel4 жыл бұрын
It's all about feel and vibrato. Keep it simple. Play simple licks you hear around until they sound like they should. That means playing them everyday for months/years...

Best answer I heard was a teacher that said an hour or two a day but working on a specific goal. Playing better solos, working rhythm etc. An hour works for me but that's usually on top of playing and singing some songs I like. Truefire member and it's my favorite site.
