Ferra/Torr is my main, I love this character. He gets like 6 his of armor on his lackey charge with meter and you didn't mention that his lackey charge is invincible on startup even without meter, he can just straight charge through gaps and nullify projectiles if timed right. I think you should have shown him against grandmaster Sub, because when he tosses Ferra she will go through his clone and ice ball and still hit him even if he meter burns it. In his ruthless variation he can get multiple his of armor off his pain and gain buff, first buff is 1 hit off amor, 2nd buff he gets 2 hits of armor, and he gets 3 hits of armor on his third buff. If you run cancel his buff he only gets half of his buff so if you never do a whole buff you have to do it 6 times to get his full buff. He also doesn't need stamina to continue a combo after his pain and gain buff after a standing 4, you can do a standing 4 dd1 forward dash into a f2 and it'll combo, comes in handy after breaker with a jump in and neither player has stamina. He can also get a full screen low starting full combo off of the meter burn Ferra slide.

In lackey it's only invincible to projectiles on startup and has 1 hit of slow armour on startup for other moves. And it is so bad on recovery that if it misses and you run full screen you get punished still. On wakeup as well it will sometimes corpse hop so they he just runs full screen whiffing it as the opponent waits behind to chase and punish. It's also punishable on block at -10 and not much pushback. The seemingly infinite armour is great though, I only had it broken by a thundergod raiden lol it is good in circumstances but it's not a particularly amazing move. Super also said he ex torr up is safe and it isn't, it leaves them up close and I think it's -9 or -10. Same with the roll. Sadly all his special moves are actually punishable on block.

I really enjoyed Ferra Tor in MKX. Was a really interesting and fun character to play and I loved the whole gimmick of them. It's a shame they were just a generic lackey character and I feel they are a character that will just never get brought back in the future.

@@blyat8832 Because Alien. Just as an example. Basically it came down to this. You have no get off me moves, against constant, staggered pressure. So all that damage and those mixes meant NOTHING of you were getting vortexed. Anything past casual, Biggie Smalls got rocked. Plus you actually had to have some execution to play them well, which is why casual players didn't really flock to them.

I think the problem is netherrealm does not know how to make new unique villain characters, so they just make them "the braindead jobber" and let's them barely get any chance to shine. Which is a shame, because I loved these characters and used them quite often

The gameplay sucks, the retconning of classic villains to making them complete idiots is not okay, the story is hilariously bad, even forgetting the whole scene where scorpion and sub zero saving cyrax happened 5 years before x in the canon comics. The roster is lacking,and the voice acting somehow got worse. Also I love how they are too scared of having females show skin,but allows you to basically do gore porn on them. I know Ruthless is the best variation, but I always played Vicious because throwing Ferra through projectiles always gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, lol. And Boss Toss randomly smashing them for 16% was never good for my opponent's psyche.

You do got to remember this was mkx, just about everyone can get above 40 percent with one bar of meter, but yeah I think damage wise they were probably top 6,just below predator

I was a huge lackey main. On Torr charge there are invincibility frames that can catch your opponent off guard if they're trying to projectile spam your wake up and it even eats ranged attacks like takda whips. You can input it as it's about to connect to eat the shot- take no damage, and run right through them. Fast projectiles like Lui's fireball full screen stop this since the second one will hit. It also has a weird wake up if the opponent is standing right on you and you input Torr charge, you'll wake up behind them with them facing the wrong way still and just run away. Ie if Lui is facing me this way < and i wake up with charge while he's standing on me- i teleport behind him and the move runs me this way > towards the corner and away safely. it's really good to stop dumb hard to get out of blenders like shinnok.

The start up of his D2 is slow but if you can get your opponent to block it, it's +4 and you can make your 10 frame b2 into a 6 frame mid and hit confirm into a full combo.

Disagree with most punishing character but it’s a great video! Smoke in MK9 had a 80% reset with a bar and over 100% reset with more than 1 bar and Cyrax had 90% 1 bar resets and 60% unbreakable resets

I'm... very late to the party on this one lol, but I thought I might comment anyways Interestingly enough, the slower command grab in Vicious DOES have 1 other benefit since its slower start-up gives it more tick-throws and makes it easier for it to armor through fast reversals, since it's more likely you can tank the hit and have enough time for their armor to go away and still get the grab. Reptile's slippery slide is a great example

This was one of the later characters I picked up in MKX. After having a firm grasp on the game I decided to pick up ferra/torr and it’s disgusting what this character can do. I played the pain and gain version; staggering pressuring with running cancel buffs was viable and it had to be a nightmare for my opponents because I’d use a lot of tech grabs off of the smallest things. You let go of your turn by doing something slightly too gemstone on block? I take my turn back with down 1 and either continue the pressure after it hits with a pain and gain hit confirm, or rip off a chunck of health when I see you blocked the D1 and confirm to his command grab. Long ass normals that can make you fear for your life even from like 1/3 of the screen away and armor on just a bunch of things. I think the biggest characters that helped me with ferr torr was erron black (my main) because of how consistent I got with the 246 motion and A List Johnny because of the run cancelling. You’d think I’d just practice with marksman erron but man those run cancels just aren’t useful for a lot of situations. Edit: I did not see that I said “gemstone on block” and no one corrected me either, love that. I meant negative of course
