Jon, I have to tell you that after searching high and low for a clear, straightforward solution to this frequent problem/plague, your presentation delivered the goods. Just remarkable results. I even short-sided myself on the 18th hole last week in a deep front bunker and a very tight pin. Popped that shot out to two feet and saved par. Can't thank you enough!

My 56 deg sand wedge has 12 deg bounce, whereas my 60 lob wedge has 8 deg. The lob wedge is great for compacted bunkers and tight lies like you said John. Great video. One of the better explanations

Very clear explanation Jon and good demonstration of these bunker options. Will look out for more of your video’s in the future.

Well presented video. I liked your emphasis on the bounce and energy of the shot. Whether soft or wet sand, I appreciated the detail of which club to use and how to approach the shot.

SHOW and Tell. Describe the situation, Play the Shot (Show) and then explain the Setup and purposes. I would have liked to know how high the lip of the bunker was. I very much liked getting the variations in the second shot. I carry a 54-10 V Grind and a 58-06 K Grind for exactly the reasons you addressed. Thanks.

That's wet sand? You ought to see ours. Virtually mud! I use a 60 with 14 deg bounce. Works for me.
@TruGolfAcademy5 жыл бұрын
That’s a lot of bounce for hard sand you must be getting your hands ahead to de loft and lower bounce angle. Glad you’re getting success 👍🏼
@petermolyneux95445 жыл бұрын
@@TruGolfAcademy You may be right. I'm not technical enough to know, but got the idea following a review of the TM Bigfoot 60 with 15 deg bounce. I couldn't get one being a lefty so got my Cleveland one instead. I play it with the club face almost square and it never fails to get me out.
@steveb38224 жыл бұрын
Hi there you wouldn't just chip it ? Ball first ??
@TruGolfAcademy4 жыл бұрын
Too dangerous if you get just a little sand before ball. I think easier to aim for sand, larger margin of error
@TruGolfAcademy4 жыл бұрын
Too dangerous I think. More margin for error striking the sand!

I usually do decent out of regular bunkers but today the bunkers at the course I played at had 2mm of sand and underneath was like the cart path. Skulled it across the green on a par 3 bunker. Ended up with a 9. Ruined my round tbh. I had bogeys pars 2 double bogey and 1 eagle and a 6 over on a par three🤦♂️. Shot 92🤢

Use your wedge with the lowest bounce. Cock wrists early and swing very soft / smooth

Good information as I specifically looked for wet and hard bunker shots but you talk too much and show little. Unless you try to gain money by showing in video ads, you really talk too much and that dilutes your good quality info.

Thanks, Im working on more show but had a lot to cover. Thanks for input

I would really love you teachers show us 3 to 4 shots and after those talk endlessly about them. Way too much info and less example.

Thanks for input Bart, I will take on board with future videos 👍🏻

Your only allowed 14 clubs so you cannot carry a bunch of wedges with different bounces.
@TruGolfAcademy4 жыл бұрын
You need somewhere between 3 and 5 depending on how strong lofted your irons are and what you want as max loft. Do remember 65% of the game is played with 100 yards of the hole 🕳
