Having seen this in the flesh I can honestly say it looks way better than it has come across on this review, the attention to detail , fit & finish is second to none . Knights are top of their game & yes, it’s expensive but completely in line with the competition imo.

Some really great innovation and attention to detail there that puts the main stream manufacturers to shame.Brave but sensible to omit the bathroom sink but needs a cupboard, needs a drop down flap to the end of the kitchen, love the tucked away ladder and drop down handbrake.

Cost is typical for the spec and quality. Remember, this is a bespoke build, not a series production model

@@MotorhomeCampervan i appreciate it is more like an ikea puzzle but for a van conversion this is unheard of. I know it is a nyche marked the likes of Hymer or Mercedes try to tempt but considering Europe is nearly fully paved i presume they will remain some kind of status symbol, probably parked next to the hot air balloon…

I agree about the overhead cupboards but if you really want to read in bed you could always lean against the back doors. The TV is far too big for the available space, a 19 or 21 inch would be adequate in the bed space but I would prefer to have a TV on the washroom wall for viewing from the cab seats. How is the pop to accessed? I assume that it is by ladder but where is it stored? The storage of the read bed ladder is a clever idea as is the anti-squabble seat. I also like the red light jumping cyclist bars, oops, sorry, bull bars.

Yes, ladder for the pop-top. The beauty here is the details like the TV can be to customer spec

There are plenty of cheaper options, and many people including myself are happy to pay a premium for something tangibly better than the norm.

If you want this sort of quality on a MAN/VW base this is the going rate. Of course, there are cheaper options but not of comparable spec/quality

Expensive 'off road' Crafters and Sprinters are becoming a bit 'me too'. What we don't see is conversions based on the Transit Trail with limited slip diff. That is at least genuinely useful in the UK without being overkill. That said the best value soft grass extra must be an air compressor. At the first hint of slip jump out and let out half the air out without worrying about reinflation.

My recommendation is a good set of off-road tyres which will deal with most situations, even with front-wheel drive. Can't see owners spending £130k and deflating tyres on a grassy campsite

@@MotorhomeCampervan After having to pay for a tow truck on a club site (staff not insured to help) I now use Cross Climates. Ducato traction control has cut in a couple of times since but always got van and trailer out (so far...). Don't fancy road noise and reduced on road performance from full off-roaders for very occasional need. The Transit trail is listed at just £3k extra including alloys, so suggests could be a relatively minor upgrade. I just spoke to a Dutchman in Spain who has one from Pilote, but apparently they only made a limited run. A bit jealous, though I know the 'wet belt' causes many to shun the Transit. Can't quite square that with with it's good standing in Parker's fleet survey though.

I'd love to know why it's awful!? As for the price, compare it with other MAN/VW conversions of this spec/quality and you'll see that it's not overpriced at all
