First off, thanks for the amazing tour of Westin Lagunamar! I am planning a trip with my husband next month. Is there a lot of seaweed on the beach of this property? Thanks in advance!

There wasn't when we were there. Seaweed on any beach is going to be cyclical, BUT these tourist hotels keep that kind of stuff cleaned up if it happens. We've been there multiple times and to many beaches in Cancun and never saw a problem.

Cancun has changed SO much. We truly did enjoy this place. And we arent "resort people"... so that's saying something.

Did you feel safe there? I keep hearing about crime and police/security officers patrolling the beaches with huge guns. I like to walk around and I see there are restaurants and stores near by@@TrulyRemarkableLife

@@trudytaylor7082 Absolutely. Use normal caution... (don't flash money, watch your surroundings, keep wallets / purses safe. But that's advice id give in any beach town.) In fact, I felt safer there than in many US cities. With regard to the police, keep in mind that the Mexican Federal Police were disbanded a couple years back and replaced by the National Guard. It has actually resolved a lot of the corruption. Since it is the National Guard... that is how they patrol... so its just very different from police officers. And yes ... they are there to protect from negative influences. However, keep in mind the Guns are in the hands of officials who are protecting you... not concealed by crazy people. Haha. I like to tell the story of when I was at Teotihuacan in Mexico City ... protected by hundreds of National Guard. I had a medical issue and nearly passed out - and the National Guard rushed to help me... took me to their medical vehical, stayed with me, provided medication and genuine care until I was 100% again. It was honestly among the most compassionate medical care ive received in my life. So... they aren't scary. They are protecting their community. That's all. Use logical caution, have a lot of tacos and visit the sites. It's wonderful.

Love this! My S.O and I are going in April! Did they have 24 hour room service?

I honestly don't know...Our room had a kitchen, so we cooked for ourselves alot. After you book, you should get an email from the concierge - I would ask them. I checked the website and it does say room service, but didn't indicate if it was 24 hrs. Have a grear time! KJ

Great video we booked this resort for 5 days in July. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. Is it easy to grocery shop? Is there a better spot on the resort you would recommend staying in?

Grocery shopping is a breeze - Soriana is just a short walk down the road. Everywhere seems to be great locations with the way the rooms are situated around the pools!

Ocean side is always good. Haha. But honestly we were in both sides of the complex (2 different stays) and it was equally good. They have a good store in the lowest level - and there is a Soriana just down the street (quick taxi ride... or we walked!) Enjoy!

@@Meg_Brazeau_Soccer Ha. Yeah... but there are plenty of places for them to explore within the boundaries of the resort. There's a ancient ruin, mini golf, and plenty of paths ... not to mention the beach. You probably wouldnt be able to spy on em anyway! Hahaha.
