my first pair of trumans are out for delivery. dark coyote rough out. no cap toe. in my opinion, better with jeans than brown cxl or jwf. patina time!

Beautiful boots! I was actually eyeing this exact version as well for a couple weeks and purchased them over the weekend. Glad I stumbled across your video to thankfully aid in my choice. The soles grabbed my attention immediately and look forward to getting them in a few days! I just hope the sizing is right for me! I ordered the 10D as well and usually wear a 10.5 in say, New Balance and Danner, so fingers crossed!

Great pick up man! I remember commenting on your video about the Navy CXL Diesel boots and you told me you were thinking of picking these up! Trumans are definitely something else, once you have a pair in your hands it's a slippery slope to buying more. That Eugene regrind sole is very neat IMO, it reminds me a lot of Dr. Soles' Cork Outsoles that you see used on lots of Indonesian brands. Kudu is a very tough leather so it shouldn't need too much maintenance, but if you want to condition it I recommend using Bick 4 so that you preserve the original color. Excited to see how yours patina and welcome to the Truman club!

Brown cotton laces looks great! It compliments the brown tongue, also i wasnt feeling the Eugene regrind sole as much when they introduced them but they have grown on me alot, especially after seeing this review! Enjoy the awesome boots man 👊🏽

My Martini ramblers are on the Eugene sole as well (not the regrind though). Pretty comfortable and grippy so far. Trumans are superbly built.

My Truman’s came with a similar sole in black. It’s ok. I wish the treads were deeper as I find it a bit too slippery in less than ideal weather. Also as my pair is not yet broken in, the side panels even when laced tight do not overlap the tongue that well so the inside of the speedhooks is rubbing on my leg/ankle. I think it’ll get better with more wears.

Thanks for sharing! I'm sure my next pair will be a more stiff leather than kudu so will be interesting to see if I have the same experience as you. Also, I haven't had a chance to wear mine in slippery conditions so I can't comment on that yet, but I have enjoyed the comfort. Much better than a 'commando' or 'mini lug' sole for just walking around, IMO. Have a good one!!

I think the cotton laces look better despite my usual preference for rawhide laces. Sweet looking Kudu!

i do like the appearance of this sole. it provides some visual interest especially after you already have a few pairs of trumans. i have the smoke ramblers with this sole in black and when i walk it seems to produce a discordant sound as the heel hits a split second before the toe.

@@rockymtnstyle ehey i did, i thought i had an issue on the fit i just mislaced them 😂, the leather is so soft, softer than my grant stones and thursdays but slightly bigger than both. I really dig the regrind sole I have never seen such a sole aside from seeing the generic black soles so adds in to the touch. I live in a dessert so this color suites just well in the surroundings, surprisingly I feel little to no hot spots, roomy toebox, pretty awesome 😎

Heck yeah, Dave! I've had a pair of Brown Double Shots in hand and it is a WONDERFUL leather. They were a gift and I ended up sending back and got him somethings else... no issues with them! I got my normal size (10D) that I wear in nearly everything, so hopefully yours work out!

Thanks a bunch, Sherman! Other than taking on a bit of indigo dye from my Brave Star jeans I wear a lot, they look largely the same! An unfortunate byproduct of running a YT channel focused largely on footwear is that I don't get to wear each boot as much as I'd like. BUT - these are among my favorites and most comfortable for sure. I have a 1-year update video planned for the end of January on these. Cheers, mate!

Welcome! Glad you found it! Not a dumb question at all. This boot has a rubber outsole, leather midsole, and leather insole. As far as cushion goes, there isn't much. The boot is very supportive but a bit stiff at first until the leather under your foot molds to your personal shape. Long term I think this is more comfortable than cushy insoles that break down quickly, but it can take some getting used to.
