Growing up in the USA, I thought it was the greatest and best country in the world. Sadly, I no longer believe that is true. Being less than 5% of the world’s population, its leaders still think they should dominate the world militarily. Over the past 50 years, China has raised hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and into the middle class. Over the same time the USA has marginalized the middle class and greatly increased the upper class. China did this mainly without using military force to exploit other countries. The USA did this while using military force to exploit other countries. They have also been exploiting their own citizens. I fear that you are correct in saying that they may be willing to destroy the world if they cannot be the hegemonic power because they think they will be the hegemonic power afterwards.

@arisplugis. It's okay if you don't like any of China's internal policies, but if the Chinese are okay with them (such as people in many countries are okay with identity cards), then it's not the business of the USA to take action to "rectify" the situation. Also, don't assume you're that free to criticize your government. I've had over a thousand of my posts in YT blocked by empire censors. Censorship in the US is more insidious and, therefore, possibly more dangerous. In China, what you see is what you get. In the US, the people get a whiff of the democracy aroma, and think it's the real thing. Nevertheless, when it comes to the crunch in the US, the gloves would be off. I can prove it. Just recall how the anti-grenocide protests in college campuses were suppressed with naked force and threats. They actually succeeded, and the people largely have forgotten.

Does it needs many backfirings, failures and humiliations before it realises the futility of such foreign policies?
