From what I heard SS handles stuff within their perimeter and has local law enforcement handle anything outside of that. On a rapid fire campaign trail it makes some sense, risky though it is.

@@bolbyballinger that's not true though. Local law enforcement was told to handle traffic, secret service is in charge of security which includes a 500 yard perimeter. There's no excuse for the snipers not to take the shots, especially since the shots are on video and they did not adjust their barrels or optics to adjust to any different distance.

One thing I will say in response to the comments about the hateful responses to Biden: I agree there's way too much hate in this country. In my close group of friends, we disagree on a lot of stuff politically, but we still love each other because we know our political beliefs don't define us. However, I will say that I have the same response as those comments to Biden and most politicians who've been calling Trump and his supporters everything from Nazis to traitors to deserving of being executed. We can't prove what exactly motivated this kid to do something so stupid, but I'd say there's an 80% chance, at least, that the media and politicians who spouted their hateful and violent rhetoric for the past 8 years had something to do with it. The fact that they're trying to backtrack now and act like violence isn't the answer is despicable, and it's the main reason why I hate politicians in general.

Point is there became a dispute when it was trump vs biden back in 2020 2 of my members in the group wanted trump cus of their political views and 1 wanted biden due to not wanting trump (that member was gay and felt if trump stayed president his life was gonna be over which I had considered his own life is something I value cus hes a good person to me) I had spoken up that they should stop it and that political agendas do not define who we r we as ppl alone with our own free will to think for ourselves is wat defines us but the 2 who were supporting trump wanted to know who I voted for (I didn't really care to vote nor wanted to but got pushed in doing it anyway) basically when I told them I voted for Biden they said "good luck getting looted" thus I had kicked them out of the group (invited one back due to convincing from another member and told me they'll make sure he behaves himself so I allowed it) thus really shows politics ruins friendships and really undefines ppl entirely

Also civilians pointed out Crooks scaling the roof to law enforcement 2 minutes before he took his first shot. This is factually false. He was in the shooting position for roughly 4 minutes before he was confronted by local PD and then engaged the president. He spent roughly 20 minutes around the building getting into a position, not chilling and waiting like you suggest. And he had the rangefinder outside the event (like outside the metal detectors). They spotted and followed him but lost him in the crowd before putting it out on the radio.

Registering actually takes a very specific role in closed elections that are not the general election. General election falls under the "label yourself whatever, vote whatever" rule, but closed elections (the reason for the registration shenanigans) prior to the general...like in PA where this happened and where people 100% are on video saying they did for this reason...were to be votes cast specifically for someone else in the Republican party that are more in-line with their personal Democrat beliefs. Essentially, they're gaming the system to try and get people that are easier to influence into office by purposely registering as the opposing party AND still vote against the guy they don't want. Watching as someone from Scotland, this is what I have so far: American Republicans; understandably upset, nobody should try assassinating someone purely because you dislike them or disagree with their opinion American Democrats; some pointing out this was horrendous, others, FOR SOME REASON, seem to think it’s completely okay and are upset the guy missed?!?! But American politics is just CRAZY in general, I remember the attack of the Capitol and politics seems to have changed a LOT in America, that being said that doesn’t mean you can just try and assassinate someone purely because you dislike them or disagree with them. I just also don’t understand how with all the military, police, secret service etc etc, HOW someone got onto the roof in the first place. Just HOW. HOW?!? Like it could’ve just been something easily overlooked like “nah, nobody would try something this stupid”, but it’s just INSANE. Like we don’t like Trump on this part of the coast because he tried taking our government to court because he didn’t like the green energy windmills off the coast (yes, it was a whole case, no, Trump obviously didn’t win, and yes, it was as dumb as it sounds), but not enough to wish harm on the guy. We just thought he was daft for trying to go to COURT because he thought the green energy windmills were “ugly”. Anyway, that’s how it looks from an outsider perspective across the sea. It’s insane seeing all of these polarising opinions, some of them are super extreme and I’ve seen folk getting fired from their civil/government jobs for literally wishing the guy actually shot him. Anyway, TLDR, I don’t think Trump or Biden are good options, I refuse to believe in a country as big as America those are the two best options for the American people who never seem to be well represented by their politicians, I genuinely think yous need more than two political parties, and violence should never be an answer in politics. Democracy is something millions have died to protect, we should strive to protect democracy.

@@ZingoBananaawell in Scottish Parliament there are Liberal Democrats, SNP, Greens, Conservatives, so whilst there is one main party that folk vote for as they (in general) tend to represent Scottish issues and her people, there is more than one party. The Highlands (where I’m from) tends to vote Liberal Democrats, not because we dislike the SNP but because LibDem in general represents us best and has done a decent job of doing so. For the UK Parliament it tends to be SNP due to the fact Labour in Scotland are “red conservatives”, they’re not really Labour at all and are just Conservatives under a different name so there’s distrust. There’s smaller parties but they don’t have many votes due to not having funding for campaigns and the likes, the Alba Party could really pick up the mantle but they need to really campaign for it. Some parties just have an attitude of “what’s the point” when really a lot of us would actually love to vote them, I know Easter Ross (my part of the Highlands) would love to support Alba but they didn’t put any politicians for election during the General Election. In saying all that Labour actually got a really good amount of votes in the General Election from Scotland as a whole which massively helped them become the UKs now main governing party (and thus a Labour Prime Minister), because we just cannot go through the Conservatives austerity any more. So whilst Scotland and Scottish Parliament tends to be SNP that’s not because it’s a one party state, it’s because out of the other parties - Labour, Conservatives, Greens - they don’t tend to represent what Scots actually want. Labour tend to be red Conservatives and don’t generally seem interested in helping the people, the Conservatives just wanna oppose any good changes in Parliament, and the Greens have been focused on gender issues (when gender identity/confused people literally have the same rights as everyone else in the country) and don’t listen to their constituents, so it’s not because the other parties aren’t available for election, it’s because they just don’t listen to what the people want and that’s fair representation and to be actually listened to. TLDR; it might seem like a one party state but it’s genuinely because as of yet, they’re the best party to vote for in Scottish Parliament due to others being too small or focusing on stupid stuff. If the Alba Party pulls the finger out? They could easily gain a lot of votes. SNP has lost a lot of favour for focusing on gender issues and trying to make women defending sex based rights “bigoted”, when we are simply defending our rights, so SNP has a LOT of work to do to gain actual trust but as of yet, is the only real party taking interest in our issues.
